Just Random Card Projects

 Hi all! I hope your week has been going well and you are all prepared for the wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.

Last week I needed several cards to send along to some friends. I took the time to plan and gather together supplies and go to work. Below are the cards that I created.

This card was created for my GS who just turned 11 last week. I did CASE this from a card maker over on Pintrest. Once I find who the design belongs to I will post it.

This week I've been working on Wool Felt ornaments and Christmas cards. Hopefully, I will have them all done before CHRISTMAS! We shall see.

That is all for today. I'm hoping to get more of my Christmas projects at least stamped, cut and the remaining felt ornaments done before our family starts rolling in.

 I'm here tonight posting a card that I will be linking over at CAS C&S # 443 for their recent challenge. I just received this stamp set and dies from MFT Beary Special Birthday. I have several GC who will be celebrating Birthdays in several months and this set will be put to good use. I love the little bears in this recent set and the dies leave very slim line around the outside of the image. Definitely a win-win.

 Hello! I'm here today with a quick post. I just finished a Birthday card that I will be giving to one of my grandsons whose birthday is coming up next week. 

I haven't created very much in a long time. I definitely lost my Mojo. I'm hoping this card will get me out of my crafting slump. I will be adding this over at CAS C&S # 441for their recent challenge. This will be definitely under the wire entry.

Although I didn't add the black enamel dots, I will be adding them.

Congratulations!

Just a quick drop by today. I will not be posting this on any blog challenges.

This is a card I just created for my niece and her future husband who will be married next weekend. We will be attending that wedding and are planning on visiting other families as part of the trip. I'll be gone for several weeks so there will be NO Craftiness going on. Although we will be driving many miles, it will so be wonderful to see family we haven't seen in 2 years!

You're How Old?

 

I have been working on several cards this week, but just finished this particular one yesterday. I selected to post one that I am sending to my 14-year-old Granddaughter whose birthday is this week. It's hard to believe she is 14 thus the sentiment on the card. Using the CAS C&S sketch challenge for this week helped me quickly put this one together. The harder part was deciding on colours. I knew I wanted to use MFT Sensational Stitched Blooms and had to find what floral dies in the set would allow me to use 4 in a row as the sketch showed. I keep it monochromatic using SU Gingham Gala 6x6 DSP and Grapefruit  Grove CS which matched the gingham paper. The sentiment is by MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes stamped in Versafine Black ink. The black dots are from SU.

This will be all for today. We have family coming over for dinner and I still have to clean up a very messy craft desk!

Bring on the Balloons

Today's card is one I created for 2 challenges. Cupcake Inspiration #524 and Freshly Made Sketches 496. Since I do have a granddaughter who is turning 8 in October, and I'm planning on using the card I just created.  Between the FM Sketch and the Cupcake Inspiration, I found that it went together fairly quickly, but that will be it for today. This afternoon I'm planning to look over several blog challenges and to get some more inspiration and a head start on the week ahead.

Sending Sunshine

Today I created a card that I will post over on the CAS C&S challenge for the week which is a sketch challenge. I chose a few older and/or retired products to create the card.

Several people have asked about the Brick Wall on my I Miss Mew card. I used the 6x6 Brick and Mortar 3D EF by SU and covered it with  Basic Gray. Lightly in some areas more in others. I used a 4 1/4 x 51/2 piece of 80# Nenaah Solar White. I then ran it through my die and embossing machine about 3 or 4x's. Chose the section I liked and cut it with the Stitched circle. That's it. Nothing special. I did like the way it turned out also and will be using it for other projects.

Happy Birthday Cupcake!

 

I am posting tonight a card that I just finished up to link over on AAA Birthday Challenge and Seize the Birthday. I dug around my older stamps and the one decided on for this card below is by Taylored Expressions Build a Treat and using one of the sentiments from that set. I really don't know how long it's been in my stamp stash, but I love the cupcake images, sentiments, and die cuts. The challenge over on the AAA Birthday blog called for using an Embossing Folder on your design. I chose a retired SU folder and used my embossing and die-cutting machine to emboss a piece of SU Fresh Freesia. My cupcakes were inked with SU Fresh Freesia and Pale Papaya. On the white panel, I chose one of the shapes from Stitched Scallop Basic Edges from MFT. I finished the card using some Altenew Gemstones which matched the SU paper.

I Miss Mew

 Good evening. I'm posting a card tonight which will be linked over at CAS Colours&Sketches blog. This week's challenge is a color challenge which sometimes stumps me, but I think I succeeded with little effort this week. I have just recently received a few new stamp sets and was wanting to give them a try. There seem to be so many wonderful examples using the SU Plentiful Plants Suite. I'm sure I will not be at a loss for design ideas. And how I love the MFT Mini Meows stamp set! I hope to incorporate it in some upcoming cards.

Good Morning. I'm here this morning with a birthday card I created to share over at The Flower Challenge #58.  I tend to shy away from most flower cards or flower card challenges. I'm still working on my coloring and layering skills. I was fairly pleased with this image and hope I can keep building more confidence.

I chose the papers by SU DSP, Hand Penned, and their lovely stamp set, Hand-Penned Petals. I chose Pale Papaya for the second layer to add more color to the card. Pale Papaya, Mint Macaron, and Pool Party were used on the floral using the waterbrush technique.

 Hello, I'm here posting a card that I created today and will be posting over on Seize the Birthday with their challenge extra being FRAMED. I'm just getting in under the wire on this card. 

I colored the Fine Line Floral by MFT using my Prismacolor pencils, Jasmine, Yellow Ochre, and Grass Green. The black and white striped paper is from MFT. I stamped the birthday sentiment from the MFT Happy Hummingbirds stamp.

Color Me Happy

  Just a note, I was honoured to be chosen as one of the weekly winners over at CAS Colours & Sketches #427. Thank you Design Team for choosing my card!

Now on to what I created today for the new challenge of the week over at CAS Colours&Sketches#428. I recently received the Mini Delight Stamp and sentiments from Mini Paintbox by Altenew. I was thinking about colours and remembered I had this DSP by SU, Follow Your Art and it felt perfect for the stamp set. I incorporated the colours in the paper to colour the little paint pan spots and framed it with Night of Navy by SU. The base of the card is Coastal Cabana. I did add a layer of white card stock which was embossed with the new SU Textured Textile EF. This is becoming one of my favourites for clean, simple layering. SU Stitched Shapes were used for the focal point of the design.

I hope you get a chance to go over to CAS Colours and Sketches and see the great job the Design Team has done with this sketch. I'm off to go clean up and start on another card that will incorporate flowers. I struggle some with layering and hope to push myself a little more to become more relaxed and better at it. As they say, "At first you don't succeed try, try again"!

Merry Christmas

 I'm posting a card tonight I created for the challenge over at Addicted to CAS, CODE Word Christmas. I pulled out my SU stamp set, Snowman Season, and chose this cute little snowman throwing snowballs up in the air. He was stamped with Versamark Onyx black ink and colored with SU inks, Real Red & Olive Green using a Waterbrush. The red background was given some dimension using the SU Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder. I added Gelly Roll Clear Star to the snowballs, tree and the snow around it.

Have a Beautiful Day

 Good evening. I just finished up a card that I will be linking over at Freshly Made Sketches. I just picked up my  IN Color Ink Pads and was anxious to use several of the new colors. When I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to use these sweet butterflies from MFT Spread Your Wings and one of the sentiments that came with it. I colored the butterflies with a water brush and then added Wink of Stella when they were dry. I felt it just adds a little more depth to the images.
