Handmade Hugs

Hello All! I hope you're enjoying the weekend. I was able to take some time to finish a card that I will be linking to the Freshly Made Sketches blog.

I still struggle some to make clean cards but I do keep trying and I am enjoying the simplicity of them.

The card base is Neenah 110# Solar white, layered with Neenah Solar White 80# that was embossed with the SU Subtle Dynamics EF. I cut two strips of SU Garden Lane DSP layered and angled. The sentiment is from MFT's Lots of Hugs embossed with WOW white embossing powder on a strip of SU Mossy Meadow.

I looked all over for my MFT vase dynamic to no avail. As I was rummaging through my die cuts I came across an older SU die that with the bottom cut off looked like a vase to me. Creative license to the rescue! This was cut with SU Pear Pizzazz. I filled it with leaves in SU Soft Seafoam/Mossy Meadow and used MFT's Fab Foliage Die-namics.

That's it from this end. Have a pleasant weekend and I hope you get to do something you LOVE!

Blessings,
Bernie

Happy Birthday to You

I'm here today posting a birthday card I made for my oldest GD whose birthday is next week. I really do like this SU Bird Ballard DSP, but unfortunately, I have very few pieces left. This was done with the circles that I had cut out of a 6x12 piece since I don't have the stamp set like I said in a previous post. I'll be linking this over at the As You See It Challenge which asked us a question.

My favorites are definitely Stitched Circles and Rectangles.

As I said, the paper is SU Bird Ballard DSP, SU Petal Pink CS embossed with the SU Subtles Dynamics EF; the Bird image was cut with the SU Stitched Circle Die and the SU Basic Gray with an older Spellbinders die. I cut a strip of Basic Gray and stamped the sentiment from MFT's Bitty Birthday Wishes which is becoming one of my favorite stamp sets. I stamped it with Versa Mark and used WOW white embossing powder and heat set it. I did add dimensionals to the back of the circle for some height and interest.

That's it for today. I hope you have a great evening and are able to get to do something you LOVE~

Blessings,
Bernie

You Are So Worth Celebrating

I'm back today with a birthday card for my son who will turn 40 next week. He lives in Maine where lighthouses are abundant so the lighthouse image from SU's Sailing Home with matching die seemed appropriate.

This card will be linked over at Seize the Birthday

I used SU Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and Mossy Meadow CS for the solid colors and paired it with one of the patterns from SU's Come Sail Away DSP. The number forty was cut from my  CRICUT cut 4x's and glued together to give it dimension.  The lighthouse, compass, and sentiment from MFT Anything - But - Basic - Birthday Wishes, were stamped with SU's Soft Suede ink. Both panels were cut with MFT Stitched Rectangles and the circle is from SU Stitched Shapes.

That will be it for today. I'm off to start dinner and probably do some crafting after that. Have a blessed evening and I hope you get to do something you LOVE!

Blessings,
Bernadette

Have a Lovely Birthday

Just checking in today with a birthday card I made for one of my DIL's who celebrating her birthday next week. This card and several others were put together rather quickly.  I already had the birds cut from the DSP and had glued them on the stitched circles laying on my desk for several days. I wanted to finish using them for some needed "stash" cards before I put them away and completely forgot about them!

This paper is from SU's Bird Ballard DSP and this particular sheet of birds now is all used up.

This card will be linked to the Seize Birthday Blog

The SU Daffodil Delight CS was cut with the MFT Stitch, Scallop Basic Edges 2 and the sentiment is from MFT's LDJ Birthday Greetings. The layers were cut to fit a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card base of Neenah Solar White 110# paper.

That's it for this Friday. I hope you have a blessed and relaxing weekend, and able to do something you LOVE!

Blessings,
Bernie

Friends...

Hello all, I had a chance today to finish up a card that I will be linking to FMS401 sketch challenge.

I hadn't used the SU Bird Ballad DSP that I received several months ago. Since I do not have the coordinating stamp set, I decided just to cut the birds with a circle from the SU Stitched Shape Dies and mounted it on a circle from an older die cut set. The stamp is from a retired, I believe, SU set, Garden in Bloom inked with Memento Jet Black Ink. This was cut out with the smaller rectangle from MFT Stitched Rectangles and glued to a strip of SU Pretty Peacock. The base is also Pretty Peacock and the white layer is Neenah Solar White 110# paper that was run through the Big Shot using the SU Subtle Dynamics Embossing Folder. That was it, Easy Peasy!

Have a great evening and a wonderful Monday and as always I hope you get to do something you LOVE this coming week!

Blessings,
Bernie

You are so Kind

Good afternoon. I'm here today posting a card that I will be linking to CAS(E)#338 Sketch challenge and the Flower Challenge.

I needed to add some thank you cards to my stash and decided to use the Poppy stamp and sentiments by GinaK Designs Inspiring Poppies set which were lacking some love.

I heat embossed the flower with WOW Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder, added the sentiment and layered the pieces that I cut with the MFT Stitched Rectangles to a piece of SU Melon Mambo and then to a Neenah Solar white 110# base. I finished it off with SU Noble Peacock Rhinestones. Since I did not have Melon Mambo ink I used Altenews Rubellite Ink Cube to stamp the sentiment.

That's it for today. I need to make a card for one of my sons and some extra masculine birthday cards this coming week. We were blessed to get very little of the effects of Hurricane Dorian here in our neck of NC. Lots of rain and wind, but thankfully no damage. My heart and prayers go out to those poor people in the Bahamas. I can't even imagine that extent of the damage.

Have a great and blessed weekend and go do something you LOVE!

Blessings,
Bernie

Happy Birthday To You

I'm posting a card today that I just finished up for my oldest sons birthday on Friday. It's hard to believe he will be 50! I still can remember most of the details of that day.

I decided to make another card using the Sailing Home Stamp Set with matching dies and the Come Sail Away DSP.  This will be my go-to choice for all the men in my family for the year.  I'll be posting this over at Seize the Birthday, where the TOPPINGS was to make a square card.  I make very few 5x5 cards, although I do like them it placement and layout was a bit of a challenge.

I stamped and cut the sailboats and the compass with a stitched round die which fit perfectly. On the large sailboat and the wheel, I added dimensionals.

PARTICULARS:

Paper: Neenah Solar White 110# for the base, SU Soft Suede, SU Night of Navy, Come Sail Away DSP
Ink: SU Soft Suede, Night of Navy, Memento Jet Black Ink
Stamp: MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes
Dies: MFT  Stitched Sentiments Strip Die-Namics, SU Stitched Circle Die

That's about it for this evening. I hope you had a wonderful and restful day
and got to do something you LOVE!

Blessings,
Bernie
