Graduation Card

Today I was able to create one of the two graduation cards I needed. I had already chosen the papers and the BRAVO stamp set, but needed some inspiration. As I was looking over my emails this morning, I opened deconstructingjen no.154, and I knew it would be perfect for my intended use.

There always seems like so many possibilities with Jen's sketches.  This certainly can be "gussied up" to make a very feminine card. I do have a card rolling around in my head with feminine in mind, but I really need to get another graduation card made, so it's on the back shelf for today, at least.

The Products Used

The solid card stock color are, Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey and Basic Gray which coordinate beautifully with the Moonlight paper stack paper. So, Stampin' Up!

SWEET!

Here is the card I promised I would post today.  Can you believe it, 3 days, 3 cards! Happy, Happy, Happy!

Gosh, I'm loving this Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey combo.  I wasn't sure I would, but I do.

This Bravo Stamp set is one of the new Photopolymer additions to the SU stamp collection. The stamps are large, but wonderful to use. I have a little testimonial about the stamp I used on this card.  I had the center piece all done including the bird, leaves and ribbon.  I know, NOT something you should do first.  :{

I inked up the stamp and laid it down on the paper. Unfortunately, it didn't stamp all the way! OM goodness, did I have to start all over again? The answer was NO.  I re-inked the stamp, and since it's clear, I was able to re-aline it! Let me tell you I was one happy stamper.

The Products used on this Card

Blackberry Bliss Ribbon - NEW

Moonlight  Paper Stack - New

I hope you get a chance to look over all the new products and do something CRAFTY.  Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Cards, Finally!

Yes, today I'm doing the Happy Dance. I actually created 3, yes, 3 cards yesterday AND to work with some of the new products from the
Stampin'Up! Annual 2014-2015 Catalog.

If you haven't seen the new catalog, just click on the side bar to download a PDF version. I know you will love it. Oops! I forgot to say this was a Mojo Monday Sketch #348. I got so carried away about getting a card done, I completely forgot!

I'm so happy that things are starting to come together as far as my healing. I had to break my time up between creating and resting, but it was a great feeling to be playing with paper and stamps again.  ;}

I'm afraid this card does not show that the BLACKBERRY BLISS and the HELLO HONEY paper were embossed with the  DECORATIVE DOTS EF.  It is really much nicer in person.

Here are the products I used for this card:

Moonlight Paper Stack
Blackberry Bliss CS
Hello Honey CS

Polka-Dot Pieces

A Round Array
Something to Say-NEW

Neutral Candy Dots
1 3/4 " Scallop
1/2 " Circle
Decorative Dots EF
Hello Honey

Blackberry Bliss

Finally Done, Well almost...

Today I had a burst of energy in the morning.  Not a very frequent thing since my surgery on April 21st.

I was able to almost complete my Studio organization project. Almost meaning, the only thing I have to sort is the 2013-2014 DSP. I just need to go through and separate the full sheets from the bits and pieces. I do have some folders I will put them in to keep them handy to us on various projects through the coming months.

I'm really happy with shelves Steve put up in the closet in that room. I still have some other items I need to put in there, but they are not Craft related.

Here are some photos I took after I finished this morning. I just wish it would stay as tidy as it is now, but that's only a dream! Like most of us who craft, if it doesn't get messy, your not crafty.

I do have the sketch, colors and papers chosen to create a few cards to post either by Monday or Tuesday. I would love to get to them earlier, but I have Worship guides to stuff today and we are attending a LIFE retreat at church tonight and most of the day tomorrow. Prayerfully, my stamina will hold out.

I hope you have a wonderful and blessed weekend, AND do something CRAFTY my friends!

Update, Week 5 and Safari Park

We had a chance to go to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park yesterday. We are Zoo Members, so we can go as often as we like and I LOVE this park. It is not as large as San Diego Zoo, but the park itself, is beautiful and the exhibits are made up of natural habitats for the animals. Every time we go we see something different.

Today we were able to see the new Tiger Exhibit. What a treat. The tigers are Sumatran tigers which are getting close to extinction. What a magnificent animal!  We also rode the African Tram. It is always fun and we had a great tram host, who was not only funny, but knowledgeable.

Since I can't walk very far, we needed to rent a wheelchair. Steve did a good job navigating me around the crowds. Well somewhat... A few near misses with some active children, but no accidents. The picture below is one I took myself while I was sitting in the wheelchair. Steve thought we should have a "selfie" because he felt our children would not believe he was actually pushing me around the park. He, as you can see, is smiling and acting goofy. I couldn't really see because of the sun, hence, the "hmm" face. I don't think this will go on Instagram.

We stayed about three hours and really enjoyed our time, but when I got home I took a 2 1/2 hour nap and I didn't even walk!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend and did something CRAFTY besides spent time with your families. I hope to back on here in a few days. Tomorrow is PT, so I'm not sure how much energy I'll have for a day or two.

Blessings,
Bernadette
