Here are just a few photos from our trip to Solvang, CA, meaning sunny field in Danish, this past weekend. It is a beautiful little Danish Village just above Santa Barbara, CA.
The town is primarily a Tourist spot. Not tacky like some. Each building has to adhere to strict codes as far as design and even color choice.
In 2011 it celebrated it's 100th. Anniversary. They hold a Danish Days festival in September, Taste of Solvang in March, and Julefest during December, which I would love to attend.
Just a small sampling of the beautiful shops,
bakeries and restaurants in the village.
A Belgium horse drawn Trolley that we took around Solvang Village with a wonderful tour guide.
This is a bronze sculpture of the "Little Mermaid". It is only 1/2 the size of the original which we saw when we were in Copenhagen 7 years ago.
This bronze graces the courtyard of the
Old Mission Santa Ines.
This is a view from the winery we visited
in Santa Ynez Valley.
I hope you have a good evening and enjoyed these photos. If you are ever out to California, I would suggest you put this quaint little place on your To Do list of places to visit.
