Last Saturday my granddaughter Annabelle celebrated her 3rd. birthday with a Troll inspired party. Her mama decorated one of the walls in her family room with balloons representing a rainbow. I created the card above using my Cricut Explore using an image from Create a Critter and some SU products.

The cards I am posting today are the Mother's Day cards that I made for the Moms in our family, eight to be exact. They are both using the sketch that is posted at  Viva La Verve for May. I just love Julee Tillmans sketches and stamps. She never disappoints me with her talent.

This picture of an old log cabin was taken on a trail in the

 Great Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg, TN. 

I recently have taken an interest in old, abandoned homes in the area of NC I live in and plan on taking a series of pictures of those homes and perhaps being able to find out their history. As of last week, I have 12 homes on my phone listed to photograph less then a 8 mile radius of where I live. I can't wait to start. Now I need to dust off my DSL camera and lens!

The picture above is an old Cantilever barn that was at the Great Smokey Mountains Heritage Center in TN. It's very interesting structure and something I had never before. Below is some information I found on a Tennessee history site. I hope it is of some interest to you as it was to me.

"Cantilever barns are nineteenth-century vernacular farm structures found principally in two East Tennessee counties, Sevier and Blount. Their characteristic feature is an overhang, or cantilever, which supports a large second-story loft atop one or more log cribs on the base story."

To A Classy Kind of Guy

It's Your Birthday!

I was able sit down this afternoon and work on a card that I will be linking to Freshly Made Sketches and Seize the Birthday. Both being entered under the wire ;}

The circle on this card is from Stampin' Ups! Naturally Eclectic DSP, another one of my favorite papers. I love the colors and designs on every piece. I can see some serious paper hording happening!

Delight Yourself in the Lord

 I was able to do some card making today. I've been AOL for a couple of weeks because of family obligations and cleaning out my craft supplies and attic. I'm very happy that is over for right now, although I still have stamps to purge. Hopefully next week I'll feel like taking on that job.

The card above was created using the Viva La Verve sketch for the month of March. I've been wanting to use it for several weeks and had several ideas rolling around in my head. This was my final decision.
