JOY to the World update

Well I finished putting together my cards several days ago, but a stomach bug decided it wanted to ruin the plan to assembly them.  They are finished now and I am addressing them today to mail out tomorrow.
I was only able to get to the USPS yesterday to pick up stamps. We had about 4 inches of snow on Monday so things were closed down. It doesn't sound a lot to some, but here in the South, with not much snow removal equipment, it makes a difference in clearing it from the roads. I believe some counties are still closed. They did receive more then we did here in Clayton, but the snow melted on the roads last evening, but the below freezing temps are played havoc and caused Black Ice to form.

Here the finished card. I used the Filled With Joy card kit by MFT with the included stamp set and dies and their Stitched die-namics, the Softly Falling embossing folder by SU, Neenah 80lb. paper, SU Real Red card stock, stash Glimmer Paper, SU Real Red ink, and , SU Metallic Pearls. I was going to add the pearls to the star shapes, but decided against it. They don't seem to make it through the mail unless you put an extra piece of card stock over them. I just was concerned about adding weight to the card = more postage.

For the inside sentiment I put into service a retired SU stamp set, More Merry Messages.

I hope you are moving along with your Christmas preperations and have a blessed day today. Now, go do something you LOVE!

JOY to the World

Well I'm almost there. I think this is the first Christmas that I will have my handmade cards ready to mail by December 10th.! I'm not sure why I always put this off every year OR maybe I do. I tend to be a bit of a procrastinator and get bored making mass produced cards, but this time I just plugged along and did it. Of course, I still have to assemble them and signed, but I plan on doing this today and tomorrow. Then addressed and brought to the USPO Monday morning.

Here is my needed to be assembled pile. I'll post a picture of the design I used when I have them completed. I hope you are further along then I am, but if not, I encourage you to just keep plugging along. It's been well worth it...

Have a wonderful weekend and go do something you LOVE especially if it's your Christmas cards!

I'll be linking this over at Seize the Birthday today.

Owl EOS Holder

Posting today a picture of one of the favors I created for my daughters Baby Shower next week. CRICUT made the cutting so easy. The assembly was fairly straight forward , but it took a little time. Especially those beaks! I wanted all the lip balm to be the same color and purchase it in bulk (10 or more) so Amazon was my choice.

Wishing You the Best Birthday Ever

Hello there! Just a quick post today. I just completed making a card using the Gina K Autumn Wreath Builder.  I like this one as much as her original. This card I will be linking to Seize the Birthday card challenge.

Happy Birthday

Just a quick drop by today. We will be heading to a family get together with family from NY. and a Birthday Party for our granddaughter Amelia who was 5 on Thursday.  I almost forgot to take a photo of the card I had made her using the fold I used on 2 previous cards (extended Z fold ) I like to do that with each of my cards to a photo record of each of them. Most of my cards I make double of, but with family I make just one special design for them.

I also decided to link this over to Seize the Birthday challenge. Although they have the options for Foliage, I'm just adding a non option card today. I went through my stamps sets deciding on what I would use for the foliage option and have narrowed my selection down to 2 stamps set. Hopefully in the next couple of days I can create one and add it to the site.

PRODUCTS USED:
SU DS paper(ret.), SU Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay, SU Gold Glimmer Paper, and Neenah Solar White for the card base
The # 5 was cut using my CRICUT - Days and Dates cartridge
Balloons- MFT Birthday Balloons Die-namics
SU Metallic Pearls
SU Dimensionals used on balloons and #5

Have a wondeful weekend and go do something you LOVE!

Happy Christmas

I finished up a card today that I will be linking up over to the CAS(E) sketch challenge. As I'm still in the process of using my 6x6 paper stash, I decided on one of the papers from SU's Joyous Noel Specialty DP. Both sides are lovely, but I chose the snowflake pattern for this card.

I'm slowly creating Christmas cards. Although I'm no where close to having what I need, I will have them by the mailing date said the "little engine who could." Of course, I still need to make Thanksgiving cards and favors for my daughters baby shower, Oh my and YIKES I say to myself!

PRODUCTS USED:
Papers used by SU Tranquil Tide, Joyous Noel, Gold Foil
Stamp set: ret. More Merry Messages by SU
SU Gold Embossing Powder, Metallic Pearls
Snowflake die by MFT included in the Filled With Joy Card Kit
SU Softly Falling embossing folder

That's it for today. I'm off to make a few more birthday cards for my grand children's upcoming birthdays and tomorrow I'll work on the favors. Thank goodness for the my CRICUT! Have a wonderful and blessed day and go do something you LOVE!

Blow it Out / Happy Birthday

Hi all! I just returned from a glorious week in Longboat Key, FL with family. Perfect weather and no Red Tide, but I sure was missing my paper, stamps and ink. Today i had a chance to do some card making and am able to link up to Seize the Birthday before the deadline.

I was looking for something that I had not done before to stretch me a little. I've really been trying to get of my "comfort box". I came across Patty Bennetts site where she was demonstrating this card fold. She was using Tropical Chic, but I needed some more male cards for my stash. I only had two 6x6 pieces of paper and some scraps from Broadway Bound, but was able to create 2 cards. That always makes me a happy crafter. This is one of the cards below.

This  was simple to put together, but the choice of how I would arrange the paper took me a wee bit longer. I am happy with the way this one turned out. I keep the embellishments simple since it was a male card.

PRODUCTS USED: Card #1and #2
Stamp: MFT Twice the Wishes
Ink: Versa Mark
SU Gold Embossing Powder
Paper: SU Broadway Bound/Gray Granite
SU Stitched Shapes Framelits/SU Oval Die (SU ret.)
Embellishments: SU Metallic Pearls
Sizzix Embossing Folder (SU ret.)

This is card #2 which is a bit simpler. I had to use Gray Granite for the two front panels since I did not have enough of the Broadway Bound paper, although I am happy with the doted embossing folder which gave it a little more interest. Both cards have the base card to stamp a sentiment, but I was undecided what to use today. I'll add that before they are mailed out.

Have a great rest of the day and go do something you LOVE!

Another Birthday Card

I'm here today with another birthday card using the Wishing You Well stamp set another design from SU Frosted Floral . This also will be linked over at Seize the Birthday I so enjoy this site. It keeps me actively making Birthday Cards which I need for all my family and friends.

I decided on Mint Macarone for the base , the layering piece, and the ink for the spray. The sentiment is an older SU stamp set, Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped lightly with black Memento Ink. I used a die cut from MFT to add some interest to the white panel and added dimensionals to the back. When I looked over my ink colors I decided on the retired, Hello Honey. It just looked the best with the Mint Macarone in my opinion. I highlighted it with Wink of Stella and added Mint Macarone tiny pearls.

Have a  wonderful day and go do something you LOVE!

Happy Birthday

Hello all. Just back here today to post a Birthday Card that I will linking over at

I must say I'm in love with this stamp set, Wishing You Well. I love the spray, the sentiments, and oh, that bow.  On this card I used one of the the papers from Frosted Floral and paired it with Very Vanilla CS and Pear Pizzazz. I decided on using retired Island Indigo for the bow and flowers on the spray. The sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes. I used an older scallop die and just used my piercing tool to make holes in each scallop and put strips of foam tape on the back of the sentiment to add dimension. After having it together, I wish I had added the tape to the scallop piece.

That's it for today. I have Dr.'s appointment shortly, so I need to skedaddle. I hope you have a wonderful day, and as always, get to do something you LOVE!

Sympathy Card

Yesterday I had a chance to do some stamping and was looking over some challenge blogs.  Over at Just Us Girls the challenge was a word challenge, SYMPATHY. Since I have a short supply of this type of card I thought I would create one using the SU Wishing You Well stamp set. Which I love, by the way.

I went to work trying several size cards, different color combinations and papers. The card below is what I final choice.

Although the paper in this picture looks like SU Very Vanilla, it is not. A stamping friend of mine gave me some of this paper to try and I decided to use it on this card. I backed the sentiment piece with heavier cardstock and then used foam pieces to raise it in the center of the card.

PRODUCTS USED:
Paper: Champagne Pearl Shimmer Paper by Recollections, SU Fresh Fig
Ink: SU Soft Suede, Fresh Fig
Di-namic by MFT Stitched Rectangle Frames

Have a wonderful day. Although we are not in the direct path of Hurricane Micheal, we are expected to get a fair amount of rain. Which by the way, we do not need! I plan on doing some more card making and hope you can do something you LOVE!

Sending You Lots of...

Tonight I had all good intentions of cleaning up my craft area. I started putting things away and my eyes fell upon a small pile of cut up birds.  My thought was I'll just put those away and use them for another day, but then remembered the challenge over at MFT's blog, Clean and Simple.

I don't have many"light bulb"moments when I'm creating a card, but certainly had this time. Also, clean and simple are down right hard for me to achieve. I had a card base sitting on my desk, the Birds of a Feather birds, the ink and the MFT "Filled With Joy" stamps. The little X and O die was in my cart, so off I went into creating mode and this is what I created. I'm really pleased with it and probably will add 3 more to my stash with the same layout and possibly colors.

I really need a better light source when I take evening photos.

I'll be headed over to the challenge over at MFT as soon as I get this posted. Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

Some Birdy Loves Me / World Card Making Day/MFT challenge

Today I decided to take the MFT's Mornings World Card Making Day challenge. It took me a little bit to decide how I was going to use colour challenge ROYBGIV. Yep, a rainbow of colour.

My card base is 4 1/4 x 41/4, the green layer is 4 x 4 and the wreath layer is 3 3/4 x 3 3/4.
I acheived the smaller wreath by using the 3 3/4 inch template.

This is the card I created. I took my inspiration from a card that Amy Yang posted for the design team. Thanks Amy!

The highlight of the card is using Gina K.'s Wreath Builder Set. I only used one of the leafy stamps to create the wreath. The dotted circle is included in this set plus two others. I called on my 1st.purchased MFT's Card Kit., Birds of a Feather. I was able to cut those tiny flowers, the small bird, and the beak all from that collection. The pearls in the center of the flowers are by SU. Some Birdy Loves You is a old thank you set I received from Taylored Expressions quite a few years ago. I did cut the sentiment in half to be able to fit it into the circle. All the papers, except SU Island Indigo and Emerald Envy came from my MFT card kits.

Also used was Neenah 110 lb. Solor white paper and Memento Dew Drop - Cottage Ivy and Memento Dew Drop - Tuxedo Black.

I'm hoping to participate in the other 2 challenges, but sure I I will have time before the Monday deadline. Have great day, and go do something you LOVE!

JOY

Just posting a  card tonight that I will be linking over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I struggled a little with this card to keep it simple and tried several color combinations. I finally decided on this color combination and embossed panel. The DSP panel was utilizing one of my 6x6 papers. From this paticular design, I'll be able to get one more card plus have a strip to use on the inside sentiment panel.

PRODUCTS USED:

Wishing You the Best Birthday Ever

I'm back today with a card that I will be posting to Seize the Birthday

This card was made with Gina K. Wreath Builder Set and Templates. I'm ashamed to say I have had this set for almost 6 weeks. I've played with it some, but it always seemed to be to intimidating. It is NOT! This is probably the easiest stamp set I've used to make beautiful wreaths.
I always get a little uptight learning and  trying new things.

I tried several different elements, several different color combinations and
finally decided on the just two I used on this card.

Hopefully as I get more comfortable using this set, I'll be able to come up with some new ideas.
There are so many great tutorials on YouTube and samples on Pintrest. The possibilities are endless.
I'm considering buying the Fall Wreath Builder set next. Not just for the
Thanksgiving Holiday, but to make beautiful Fall wreath cards.

PRODUCTS USED:

Gina K. Wreath Builder Set and Templates
I used the 4x4" template. The base is 4 1/2 " x 4 1/2", the layer is 4 1/4"x4 1/4"

SU Ink Colors: Bermuda Bay, Certainly Celery

Paper: Neenah Solar White for card base and stamped image, SU Bermuda Bay CS

I used the Stampin' Spots from my Paper Pumpkin Kits to ink up the flowers and wispy branches.
It really is much easier to use small ink spots to do this technique.
Also, I stamp postioner is needed. I have a large MISTI and it worked perfectly.

That's it for today. Have a wonderful evening and go do something you LOVE!

 So here it is:

All the products on this card are from MFT 's Filled With Joy Card Kit except the Silver Pearls that are from SU.

That's it for today. I hope can do something you LOVE!

Hello

Today I was actually able to sit down to make a card! Things and time have just slipped by with the hurricane, family, plus I had lost my mojo. I really dislike that when it happens. I did accomplish sorting and organizing my craft supplies once again.

Recently my husband added a counter to the 6 foot area that I used to craft in. I had a very nice desk, but it wasn't nearly big enough to spread out. A girl just needs spreading room, you know.  I do still have my craft supplies in two different areas, but they are close by.  When I lived in San Marcos I had an actual craft room with everything within reach. Not so here, but I'm very happy with my space. It affords me lots of light which is something I really need when I craft.

This is the alcove on our second which overlooks our entry way. I also have a nice window to my right that adds even more light.

Now onto the card that I created today. I'm getting this posted just under the wire for Freshly Made Sketches 356  challenge.  I have been wanting to use this paper from SU for quite some time and thought is was perfect for the sketch.

PRODUCTS USED:
Neenah Solar White CS
SU: Cajun Craze, Grapefruit Grove, Nature's Poem DSP
SU Hello die cut

Have wonderful rest of the evening. I hope you had a blessed weekend and enjoy next week. I can hardly believe it will be October 1st. tomorrow. Before you know it it will be Thanksgiving  then Christmas! And as always, I hope you can do something you LOVE!

With Sympathy

I had some time to finish up a card that I cut on Saturday with some of my stamping friends. I was glad I held off until yesterday to put it together and add a sentiment.  I had a friend of mine from Arizona loose her husband several days ago and I needed a Sympathy card. The new stamp set by SU, Wishing You Well fit what I needed for the card.

PRODUCTS USED:
SU Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow
Ink: SU Mossy Meadow
Stamp: SU Bloom With Hope (RET)
Pearl accent
Wink of Stella on Bow

That's it for today. I'm off to do a little more preparation for the upcoming storm. Thankfully it has turned into a CAT 2 instead of 4. Although we are about 2 hours West of Wilmington were the most dangerous impact will be, we will still get quite a bit of rain and wind. I feel we are as ready as we can be and are trusting the Lord to keep us and our families safe.

Have a great day and go do something you LOVE!

You Deserve to be Celebrated

Good evening everyone. I hope you have had a wonderful day so far.  We are expected to have  Florence a predicted CAT 4 hurricane to "visit" us by Thursday. Hopefully it will loose strength and turn back into the ocean.

On a happier note, I was able to create a card for the MFT Sketch Challenge. I pulled my out my little birds from Birds of a Feather Card Kit. The Birdhouse, the flowers, leaves, and papers are also from the same kit. I embossed the sentiment from MFT's Twice the Wishes and plan on adding a birthday sentiment from the same set on the inside. It seems I'm always finding ways to create a card with the contents of this kit.

The  Sun is also a MFT Die, SUNNY SKIES

That's about it for this evening. I'm hoping to get another card or two created before a possible power outage in a few days. Have a great evening and go do something you LOVE!

Sending Birthday Wishes

Hello all. Just popping by to link two cards that I created yesterday for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

Both these cards are using a 6x6 sample sheet from the SU Animal Expedition DSP. I'm slowly working through the paper pack that I received from Linda Heller. Of course, I should have had more cards made for as long as I have had it, but that's another story. These are both Birthday cards for some of the younger grandchildren in my life. I finished off the inside  of the card with the strips I had left over from the 6X6 sheet. That will leave me 4 sheets remaining to do a few more cards. Got to love that.

PRODUCTS USED:
SU's Stitched Shapes Framelits, SU Cardstock
Bird and leaves are from MFT's  Birds of a Feather Card Kit
Sentiments are from PTI's Everyday Button Bits (RET). I love these sayings and fonts and have      been using them quite often lately.

Have a wonderful Saturday. I'm off to make cards with some of my card making friends for a few hours this afternoon. I hope you all have a chance to go do something you LOVE!

Happy Birthday

I'm back to post a card that I'll be linking over at Seize the Birthday. I've really been trying to stay ahead of my birthday card making. Having 27 people in my immediate family and friends who I send cards to, keeps this girl BUSY!

Here is another example of using a 6x6 selection of paper this time from the Broadway Bound DSP. This extended Z fold card worked perfectly and allowing me to make 3 cards plus having several sheets left over to add to my stash.

PRODUCTS USED:
SU Cardstock: Real Red, Lemon Lime Twist, Black, Broadway Bound DSP. **I did replace Real Red in place of  Lovely Lipstick, but honestly you can barely see the difference especially with the patterned paper I selected.
MFT  Balloon Die Cuts
PTI  Balloon String stamp for a retired set.
SU Framelits Deco Labels die cuts (retired)
Sentiment by unknown manufacture

Well I'm off to prepare some more cards. I hope you have a wonderful evening and are able to do something you LOVE with the remainder of the evening.

Just Saying Hello

Tuesday night I prepared some cards to put together with my crafting buddy Vicki yesterday afternoon. This Garden Impressions DSP has not been my favorite, but I was determined to use my 6x6 pieces! The cards are A2 size with the floral panel cut to 4 x 5 1/4. Easy Peasy... The stamp for the sentiment is by an unknown manufacture.

I did look on Pinterest to get some creative ideas and I liked what was created by different card makers and demos. I still can't say I love it, but I'm happy with the results. I used SU So Saffron for all the bases of the cards and 2 of the layering dotted squares. The Pacific Point layer looked better on the the last card and I'm glad I used it. It made the card really pop. My favorite is the blue background floral paper. Although I would like to make another, I can't. That's one downside of buying the 6x6 samplers.

I'm sending these along to some friends tomorrow and I hope they cheer up their day. I'll be posting a card over to Seize the Birthday in a few minutes. I hope you stop by there to see the birthday card I created using the 6x6 paper from the SU's Broadway Bound.

Just me

Just a quick and easy card tonight. I've been doing some purging and organizing and came across this sentiment that's a least 4 or more years old.. I don't believe it has ever been used or know the name of the manufacture. I hope I'm not  the only crafter who has been in this position.

Everything on this card except the little bird from MFT "Birds of a Feather Card Kit", are all retired products. It's amazing how much stuff I've accumulated and have saved, but I'm slowly purging.

I decided to use the sketch that was posted over at MFT's Card Challenge. I really loved the simplicity of it and thought it would work well with the little bird and sentiment.

PRODUCTS USED:

That's about for this evening. I have quite a mess to clean up from purging and making a card. Have a great night and I hope you still have some time to do something you LOVE!

Birthday Wishes

Today I put together a card with some bits and pieces I had gotten from a local Card Class I attend once a month. Here to Give You a Lift - REDO and OOPS!

Yesterday I thought I posted a card to link over at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. It looks like I skipped that step. My time with my GD and her making 18 cards, yes 18, must have fried my brain when I wrote the post and didn't link it.  ;-{ I used the balloons from MFT and a sentiment from PTI - Everyday Button Bits (ret.) The info of the products are on my previous post.

After looking at the card several times I decided that the sentiment - "here to give you a LIFT," although at the the time, I thought it was cute. But when I went to bed I had a different opinion.

Today I redid the card and instead of making the whole card over, I added a panel with a birthday sentiment from the same set. I really don't like it as well, but it is what it is.

My original card

Thanks for stopping buy to here about my debacle. Have a wonderful Saturday and Sunday. Now go do something you LOVE!
