Masculine Thank You

Today I decided to play along with 3 challenges.  I'm not sure if I have done that before, butI guess there is a first time for everything.

The SUO challenge was pretty straight forward, creating a Thank You card, the sketch over on Freshly Made Sketches was easy to follow, but the color challenge over on Color Throwdown, well lets just say, that was a challenge for me. I worked with several similar combinations and my final decision were Smokey Slate, Tempting Turquoise, and Cajun Craze. I occasionally need a masculine Thank You and I felt the colors and the sketch worked well for that.

That's about it for the evening. My husband would like to eat, so I better get supper started and STOP playing with ink and paper!

Have a good evening my friends and go do something CRAFTY!

Mojo Monday/ 500th. Post

Yes, today is the day. My 500th. post! I hope you choose to follow me and leave a comment to have a chance to receive the gift I posted on yesterday by a random drawing.

For my card today I  chose to play along with MOJO # 421 Tall and Skinny challenge.  I seem to be getting a little more comfortable with the tall and skinny layouts and sizing of the sentiments to fit the space.

The stamp set, All Ye Faithful, I  just received in my SU order on Monday.  It was ordered during their 15% sale and I was planning to use only the sentiments, but when I saw the image, I chose to use it for today's card.

The image was stamped with Lost Lagoon ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. By doing that, it gave the image subtle dimension which I feel added some interest.

I haven't decided what sentiment to use to finish of the inside, although I did add some matching paper from the front panel of the card.

I hope you make your Tuesday a great one and do something CRAFTY my friends! I'll be picking a random winner on Saturday. Come back then to see if your the winner!

1Cor.16:14 / PP#268/Word Art Wednesday

Just a quick card I put together yesterday using the Paper Players sketch#268 and entering on the Word Art Wednesday site. I did encounter a tad bit of difficulty with lining up the layers, but I stuck to it and feel I had success.

I just recently starting using Wordart by Karen scripture word art again. She provides this word art free. What a blessing she is. If you get a chance, why not stop by her site to see what she offers and leave some love.

Today is my 449th. post and tomorrow I'll be posting my 500th.! I will be giving a special gift randomly to ONE lucky gal or guy if you follow me and leave a comment. You can read about it here:  http://sweetpaperbliss.blogspot.com/2015/10/announcement.html

Announcement!

Today I have a BIG announcement, for me at least.
I am close to my 500th. post!

It's hard to believe that I'm almost at that number. I have had several other blogs since 2007, but on this particular one, I have been posting for almost 3 1/2 years. I realize it's not a huge amount compared to other bloggers for that period of time, but I'm doing the happy DANCE! Honestly, there have been weeks that I just have not felt motivated to create or share, but I persevered. I'm so happy I did.  I love sharing my projects and bits and pieces of my personal life, although that can be scary at times.

In Celebration of that milestone, I will be giving away a special gift to my present blog readers and those who sign up to follow me here at Sweet Paper Bliss. After much thought, I felt that signing up to follow me is the only fair way to take part in the give away to my already faithful subscribers. And besides, it makes me feel LOVED! The names will be put into a hat and will be randomly drawn sometime towards the end of next week.

Stay tuned and check here on Monday what that GIFT will be!

Final Invitation Project

Yesterday I finished up the invites for my grandson Kempton's birthday party.  I did change up the color combo, the shapes and the font, basically doing a whole make over. It passed my daughters and grandsons approval, so they will be off in the mail tomorrow.

My color inspiration came from the vase and flowers I have on a little table in my dinning room.  I feel they have more of a pop and look more kid friendly. The papers are from SU and for some reason, the colors on the "party" and the center shape appear not to match. Actually they are both Old Olive and look the same color in person. What do you think?

Here's my color inspiration piece:

Well that's about it for now. I'm hoping to get a Get Well card made sometime today after doing some errands. I hope you have a wonderful and, hopefully, CRAFTY day!

BernieBee

Cricut Invitation project

Today I took some much needed time to play around with my Cricut Explore. I have used it some and I'm still on the low end of the learning curve, but I needed to get to know "her" better.

Although there are quite a few ladies/gents online who give wonderful instructional videos, Stacy Williams is my go-toShe has a laid back style that I enjoy and very clear instructions. She has taught me so much about this wonderful machine.

This invite was a a prototype for my grandson Kempton's 5th. birthday. His mama is not in love with the craft base, so tomorrow I'll try some different color combos and maybe add some texture for interest.

I loved learning how to size, layer, and turn separate cut letters into joined words, etc.  There are so many crafting possibilities with this machine. Nine years ago I bought the original Cricut and loved it, but this one is so much more.

Well I'll be signing off for now, but will post an update later today.

Stay CRAFTY my friends!
