Gorgeous Grundge Birthday

I was able to get this card created on Saturday for my oldest sons birthday next week. I even mailed it. Yeah me!!!

I saw this design and colors over on  Pinterest by, Stamp with Rachel, and really liked it. I did change it up some to fit my interpertation.

We have been celebrating my husbands birthday this weekend. We attended a wonderful night of  Worship at our church, Coastline, on Friday evening, a party at the winery we are members of on Saturday evening, and Sunday after church, we had a delicious breakfast at  Stratford at the Harbor in Oceanside, CA.  Tonight we will serve at the 5 pm church service, come home and have a slice of  WONDERFUL pie. A wonderful ending to a wonderful Birthday weekend.

That's about it for this post.  I hope you get to do some crafting today. I'm not sure I will, but I always have tomorrow. ;0)

Just this and that today

Yesterday and today I have been trying to get back into my Studio to get some cards and crafty things created.  I did manage to do that, but boy am I RUSTY! Although I gleaned some great inspiration from the web, my little 3x3's really lack the WOW factor.

I love the papers, but not loving the finished product. I made 2 sets of 3 to send along with a thank you to some friends on the East Coast who hosted us while we were there.I thought about starting over with these, but I really would like to get them out tomorrow. So, I guess they go "as is"...

The card was a CAS card, but unfortunately, I don't have a name to give the person credit. If I come across it, I'll post it.

CASEd from Karen Page
This is a card I made for my husbands birthday Sunday. I did CAS this one also, but I really like the CAS card better.  I added the bottom gray panel to cover a ink oops, but should have started over. I'm really not loving the panel, I feel it it just makes the card look to busy and off balance. If I have the time tomorrow, I will be making another one.

Boy, this post is sounding very "Debbie Downer".  I tend to be my own worst critic. I'm sorry for that. I promise to be more upbeat in future posts. ;o)

Have a great weekend and I hope you get to do something CRAFTY!

Hugs,
Bernie Bee

No, I haven't fled the country!

Hello all, My last post seems to have been on August 4th. YIKES! I didn't mean to be AWOL this long, but life, vacations and procrastination happens.

1. I had all intentions of doing projects ahead of time. That did not happen = procrastination

2. Busy doing other stuff, no mojo, not feeling well = life

3. Traveling to Florida for my granddaughters wedding reception ( July 9 -14), traveling to the NE (Aug. 5-18) to see our newest princess and attend my MIL 90th. birthday party/family reunion = vacation

Hopefully, this week I'll be able to get back into the my crafty rhythm. Below are some vacation photos. It was so refreshing to drive through Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Upstate NY. We decided to take the byways instead of highways, which made the trip a little longer, but so enjoyable.

The weather and scenery was just beautiful. Quaint little towns, lush greenery, mountains, lakes and so much more. I have to say one of the better trips we have taken in awhile.

Freedom Lobster co-op, Freedom, Maine. We picked up our fresh lobster right off the boat to cook for dinner!

Mom Bliss' 90 th. Birthday cake

And here is just a silly one of me. We traveled to Freeport, Maine to the home of LL Bean store. What a beautiful little town.  It actually is the original town were they have added factory stores to the older buildings. Very quaint, but crowded.

Well, I hope this hasn't bored you to tears.  I do have MORE, but thought I better stop here. Have a wonderful Sunday and please stop by this coming week. I'd love to hear from you.

It's Your Day!

Just doing a quick post today of a birthday card I made my GD who loves butterflies.

All the products are from Stampin' Up! except the butterflies which is a Martha Stewart punch . I pulled the colors from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I have to say, this paper is not my favorite out of the stack, but I know my GD will love it.

I'm off to finish up my wash and pack. We are off to Rhode Island, Maine, and Upstate NY tomorrow morning. I get to meet my newest GD, Wren who will be 2 months old in several days. In NY we will be attending a family reunion and celebrating my MIL's 90th. Birthday. I'm looking forward to the trip, just not the travel from here in CA to the East Coast.

Our new little princess, Wren
Have a wonderful week and go do something CRAFTY!

Get Well / MOJO Monday#408

Today is a card made using the MOJO#408 sketch.  I recently was going through all my cards and reorganizing and filing them into appropriate categories.  I saw that I had only one actual get well card. So my mission today was to use this sketch to fill that void.

I just recently received my August July Paper Pumpkin, and it included a Get Well stamp. PERFECT!

Actually, all the images on the card are from the July kit. The finished card size is, 3 1/2" x 6" so this card called for a specialty envie using the SU Envelope Punch Board. This board makes doing that so easy.  My card size was listed, so all I had to do is cut the paper and follow the simple instructions listed on the board.  I added the tea cup and flower on the front of the envelope and just the outline of the flower on the back flap.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your day and go do something CRAFTY!

Me?Miss You? / Mojo Monday

I have a very quick post tonight. This card is based on a sketch by MOJO Monday

The stars on this card were used as part of the design with a special meaning. My 4 year old grandson, Kempton,  seems to be  into stars right now. I'm  really not sure why.

Since he lives in NC and I live in CA, keeping in touch with him is important. The sentiment from the SU "Happy Happenings" was perfect to let him know how much I missed him.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and are able to do something CRAFTY!

Hugs,

Sharing in Your Sorrow / CTC / ctd#349

Yesterday I played along with CASEing-the-Catty and the Color Throwdown challenge.  This weeks challenge over at CTC was to make a project using one of the Love and Sympathy examples on pages 19-30 of the new catalog. I decided to CASE the card on page 25 and combine it with the colors from ctd#349.

I put my own spin on this card using the products that I had. I did use SU paper and inks to play along with ctd colors, SU Thoughts and Prayers and the hostess set Bloom with Hope (ret.) The Deco Labels Framelits was the focal point. For the bird, I used the Bird Builder Punch and the retired Polka Dot Pieces stamp set. Adding Basic Pearls, Linen Thread and a small button completed the card.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy you Holiday weekend, stay safe and I hope you can do something CRAFTY!

Hugs,
Bernie Bee
