Birds and This &That

Today I'll be posting just a a few picture updates. Not crafty stuff, but just things that are part of my life.

The little birds on our wreath are getting close to leaving the nest. I'll miss sing their progress from day to day.

Speaking of birds. This morning I was blessed with a male and female Goldfinch at our new feeder. We've had the House Finches and Carolina Chickadees coming for about 2 weeks,  but this was the first visit from the Goldfinches. I really need to get a better picture of the male. He's absolutely stunning. I did put up a Hummingbird Feeder, but there has not been any activity as of today.

Speaking of "birds". Here is a recent photo of my son and his daughter who live in Maine. Her namesake is Wren after the tiny little bird. Hopefully,  we will get to see her and her brother Booker soon.
Our new little  Booker Scott born 3/17/17

I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend. My oldest son will be cooking the Easter meal this year. He loves to cook and entertain. Hopefully, my daughter Stephanie and her family will be able to join us. Tomorrow is her due date! We are so excited to get to meet Matthew Jr. soon.

Talk to you soon.

SU Thinking of You and Sympathy Card

Today I have 2 cards using Stampin' Up! products. I've been real negligent for not utilizing them. And believe me, I have many to chose from probably like most of you reading this post.

I feel by not carving out time to craft , I've sabatoged myself of my creative ability. You know the saying, use it or lose it. It seems I  get overwhelmed trying to decide on colors, layout, and stamps. Then give up and walk away.

When I was crafting on a more consitent basis, I found my inspiration by entering challenges or casing cards. A really simple solution to move ahead. But I've not taken advantage of that simple solution. Yes, I am more involved with my family since I am back East, but it's certainly not everyday. I guess I just need TO DO the suggestions I gave myself to move forward.

Well that's enough for my self help session! Thanks for listening.  If you have ways that motivate you when you've lost your creative mojo, please write and let me know. I would love to hear from you. Okay, now on to the cards.

Sympathy cards are always sad cards to make, but I needed one so I got to work. I do believe this was a CASE card, but unfortunately I don't know the creator. Sorry. Since I haven't keep up much on SU retired products, I'll just list what I used.

  • So Sorry stamp set
  • Butterfly Basic stamp set for flower
  • Bermuda Bay ink and paper
  • Very Vanilla CS
  • Timeless Elegance DSP
  • Soft Suede CS for base
  • Banner Triple Punch

This card is for a friend of mine who is bravely fighting cancer. I have been trying to send a card even couple of months to let her know I care.

  • Thoughts and Prayer stamp set
  • Very Vanilla CS
  • Crumb Cake CS
  • Assorted  Enamel dots
  • The embossing folder is by SU, but I don't know the name of it.
That's my post for today. I hope you enjoy your weekend and do something you love!

Cricut Baby Cards

Several days ago I was able to carve out some time to make several cards. Yeah me!

I was in need of 2 baby cards this week. Since I didn't have any in my stash, I decided to make use of my Cricut. I'm slowly honing my skills and at tempting to use it to its full potential.

This card is for a sweet young couple who added a baby boy to their family of 3 little girls. I used a retired paper by SU, Neenah white card stock, and Bazill textured paper to bring together this card.

I also in needed a baby girl card. This SU patterned paper with the little hearts, I felt, was the perfect background for the die cut image. It was paired with solid SU cardstock and Bazill textured cardstock.

Both of the cut images are from the Cricut cartridge, Baby Steps. I can see myself using this cartridge often.

That's about it for tonight. Enjoy your day tomorrow AND go do something CRAFTY! I hope to.

*If you like the names of the patterned paper used or the colors of the cardstock, just post a request on this blog.

Spring Post

Well, here it is almost the end of March. I can't believe the month is almost over. My last post was too long ago. I really thought I might be on a crafting roll, but that didn't materialize.

Today I'm posting just a few pictures of recent goings on here in my neck of the woods.

We got to meet our 1st. Great Grandaughter who lives in Texas with her mommy and daddy. She came with her mom to visit with her Nana, my daughter, in Florida.  We were able to drive down and visit for a few days. What a blessing to see her and snuggle with her.

This is Miss Lorelai born on Thanksgiving Day 2016. Don't just feel pinching those sweet little cheeks!

And now introducing, Booker Scott born March 17th. 2017 to my son Joel and his wife Kelly. He joins his little sister Wren in Maine. We will get to meet him in May or June.

We had this sweet House Finch lay her little brood in our winter wreath on our front door. The Spring wreath won't be removed until the little ones leave the nest. We have avoided using the front entrance the past week so she will undisturbed.

This is my hall table decorated for Spring. The pillow, ceramic rabbit and the Hello Spring were my Target finds. The wreath on the mirror is the the one that was to be on the front door.

This is a Cricut project that I did today. Sorry about the lighting. I took it at dusk. I'm not completely happy with it, but I will leave it for now. I can't believe how rusty I am with all my crafting attempts.

That's it for now and I hope I haven't bored you too much.😙

Have a wonderful and blessed remainder of the week!

I'm Up and Crafting...Sort of

Hi All

I am still around.  The last post I wrote was in October 2016. Now here it is February 19, 2017 and just wishing you a Happy New Year!

I hope the new year has brought you many blessings and lots of CRAFTY goodness.  I have actually made several projects, but didn't take the time to post them. Today this will be a short post hoping it gets me out of the very bad crafting mojo that I have had for months. Although my life had been busy with family and GRANDCHILDREN,  I just haven't been taking ME TIME. I'm trying to set up some type of craft schedule where I can fit all things in. Hopefully it will work. I really do miss creating.

I needed Thank You and Thinking of You cards ASAP. An unused Paper Pumpkin came to my rescue. It has been laying dormant since February 2016😊 I was able to get them done in just under 30 minutes. Yeah me. Such a great feeling working with paper, ink, and stamps again.

**I used the stamps in the kit plus stamps from the Paper Pumpkin 2015 kit on the cards.

That's it for today. I have some family coming over for dinner and need to finish up things.  Have a wonderful Sunday and go do something  CRAFTY.

Hugs,
BernieBee

Just Popping In!

Hello all! Just a quick post with some pictures of what I've been up to.

Yes, I know, WHAT NO CARDS your thinking and perhaps saying. No, NO CARDS. Not even a crafty homemade item. I'm really quite disturbed with myself for not "forcing myself" into my craft area. I even saved Mojo Mondays sketch thinking that would move me along. NADA!!!

So, on with some none crafty news. I hope I can keep you interested so you will continue to FOLLOW ME. ;.)

Just spent a wonderful week here at our Timeshare in Long Boat Key, FL. Got to spend some great time with my daughter, granddaughters, and friends. We also enjoyed some new restaurants that we haven't frequented on our previous visits here. Great food, by the way. Especially the fish dishes.

My granddaughter, Morg, is expecting her first little one in December. Her Mom and some friends hosted a Baby Shower for her while I was there. It was such a sweet time. The decorations and food were fantastic!

My GD Mady on the left, myself and Morg, the Mommy to Be.

My front entrance. The weather has been in the upper 80's. I'm thinking that my Summer Wreath needs to be put back up!

That's it for today. Have a blessed and CRAFTY DAY!

Farmhouse Table

Just a quick post tonight. On Wednesday this week I was able to pick up our new Farmhouse table built by a local Raleigh, NC man. He did such a great job and I'm loving it.  Although, it still will only sit 8 or 10 of us. Our dinning area is small, so we were limited on length.
.

Southern Yellow Pine top - 78" x 37"

Painted flat black pine legs, distressed

I'm still in the process of decorating my dinning room. I've bought some pictures and hope to get them up this weekend.  The chairs around the table are from my old set, but I'm looking to find at  two dinning armchairs and adding some metal or wood chairs.  I'm on the HUNT!

Have a wonderful weekend!
