You're the Cutest

Here's a quick card I finished last night for the CAS(E) this sketch challenge #382. I am sending a few little gifts along to my GG and wanted to enclose a card with the package. I love this little kitty from MFT's Cute Critters stamp set which was perfect since her family has two cats she adores.

I used SU papers for the lightly embossed background grey layer and one of the new colors, Bumblbee. I colored the kitty with my Prismacolor Pencils, cut the sentiment out with MFT's Fishtail Trio. That was it, easy peasy.

I'm off for tonight and as usual, have a messy craft area to clean up. Stay well and safe.

Bring on the Balloons

I  finished up this card today to add to my family birthday stash. With having 15 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 7 children with their spouses, it's a never-ending cycle of creating birthday cards!

I had received MFT's Balloon Bundle several weeks ago and it needed some love. The Paper Players sketch was great to use for these cheerful balloons and paired it with a sentiment from MFT's Safari Party. The papers are from SU, Bird Ballad, and Daffodil Delight. I did use my Prismacolor Pencils, but next time I use this set I will color them with watercolors. My shading needs some more practice sessions!

That's it for today. Our Carolina Hurricanes puck drop is in a few minutes! I just LOVE hockey and so glad they are back playing.

Have a wonderful evening and stay Safe and Well...

Prayers During This Difficult Time

Just here to post a card that I finished this afternoon for The Flower Challenge. I believe I will be just under the wire! I've been struggling the past couple of days with lost MOJO. Ugh, I hate it when I go through these times. Do you?

I made this simple by not coloring the flowers, but I like the way it came together with the black and white and pop of color. I used an older SU patterned paper and paired it with one of the new colors, Magenta Madness. The flower stamp is MFT,s Fine-Lined Floral and Sending Prayers with the matching die. I heat embossed the sentiment with Gina K's Black Fine Detailed embossing powder and layered the prayer cut out.  I also used the MFT Stitched Rectangle Die-namics.

That's about it. I have a very messy craft area to clean up and think about supper. I hope you have a blessed and safe weekend.

Blessings,
Bernie B

It's Time To Party

Today I'm posting a card that I finished up earlier last night. It was originally going to be posted over at Freshly Made Sketches and, Seize the Birthdaybut it doesn't quite meet the parameters of the FMS#445 challenge.

I had just received this Birthday Cake Die by MFT last week and thought it needed some love. The background paper is an old SU design and the remainder of the papers, except the card base, is also; Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, and Night of Navy. I used the sentiment from MFT's, Bitty Birthday Wishes, and inked it with Night of Navy. This is a pretty straight forward card and another one that went quickly.

That is it for today. I'm headed over to my daughters' house to babysit my grandsons. Have a great Friday and a safe and well weekend.

Blessings,
Bernie B

You're A Party Animal

Here today with a birthday card that I made this afternoon for one of my GC. It was an easy one to put together, which I'm always thankful for.

I'll be posting this over at MFT Sketch Challenge, Seize the Birthday and Just Add Ink

I did use SU paper for the colour challenge. Pretty Peacock and Pool Party, but colored the elephant with my Prismacolor Pencils. The MFT Safari Party was used for the elephant and the sentiment. I embossed the top layer with an older SU folder and used one of  MFT's Fishtail Trio Die-namics without the added fishtails.

That's about it for tonight. Our dinner is almost ready. Later this evening I'm going to go over some new recipes.  I hope you had a great Monday. Stay safe and Well.

Sending Birthday Wishes

I was glad to be able to get up in my Craft area to put together a card for two challenges today. I'll be posting this over on CAS Colours and Sketches and The Flower Challenge.

This sketch will be one I will keep in my sketch folder. It came together quickly, and who doesn't like quick, and you can use a variety of images to surround the circle. I was going to use a larger flower, but this trio with a matching die is one I have not used from the Garden Treasure stamp set by Altenew.

I used SU Balmy Blue and So Saffron as the main colors. I embossed the BB with the SU Subtle Dienamics folder to give it some texture and the circle was cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. The sentiment is from a long-retired SU stamp, Butterfly Basics. I colored the flowers using Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Peacock Feathers, and Mustard Seed. The leaves were colored using Altenew Frayed Leaf, Gina K's Fresh Asparagus, and some pearls to finish it off.

That is about it for today. I need to pick up my Walmart grocery order in a little bit and then have some super. I pray you enjoy a blessed Sunday and stay safe and well.

Blessings,
Bernie B

Have Yourselfie Birthday

Good afternoon! I'm in my craft area today finishing up a Birthday card that will be going either to one of my daughters or granddaughters. It certainly is very pink and girlie! I had a little difficult time with bright colors I'm just not much of a pink person, but I forged ahead and put my preferences aside.

I wanted to use some of the new SU DSP and picked this multi-colored stripe pattern from Flowers For Every Season and felt it definitely said, GIRL. I paired it with Magenta Madness and Bumblebee which are from the new in color papers by SU and coordinated with the striped paper. That adorable Lion is from the new MFT's release, Picture Perfect Party Animals, and also one of the sentiments from the same set. The coloring was done with my Prismacolor Pencils and the sentiment was stamped with Magenta Madness.

I'll be posting this over at Poetic Artistry Blogspot and Seize the Birthday.

That's about it for this afternoon. I hope you have a great rest of the evening and stay safe.

Blessings,
Bernie B

Hello My Sweet Friend

Just finishing up a day of sorting craft paper, practicing layering flowers, and finishing up this card for Freshly Made Sketches challengeI went in several different directions with colors and layout for this card but finally decided on the one below. I had just received the MFT's Sweet Hello layering die and I needed to add to my stash of friend cards. I paired it with a sentiment from the MFT's Well, Hello stamp set. I used SU's Purple Posy and a new DSP, Playing with Patterns for the triangle element. The softness of the color and pattern drew me in.

That's about it for this evening. I'll see you in a few days posting a new creation.
I hope you have a blessed Sunday. Stay safe and well!

Birthday Blessings

I'm posting a card tonight I finished up this afternoon to link over at CAS Colours & Sketches. I struggled with how I would use the challenge colour choices. Once I chose the Gorgeous Grape for the frame, it all fell into place.

For the panel behind the frame, I used an older SU Embossing Folder which gave it some interest. All the flowers are from Altenew's, Striped Flowers and coloured with SU inks using an Aqua Painter. The sentiment is from MFT's Bitty Birthday Wishes. I also used MFT's Stitched Rectangle Frame

I hope you have a restful evening and enjoy your Friday tomorrow. Stay well and safe!
Blessings,

Congratulations!

I'm here again today. I've been on a roll the past several days. Without much to do outside the house, not even 4th of July celebrations, I've been trying to stay positive. Card making seems to help my frame of mind and focusing on what I can do instead of what I can't do. So important through this season we are all going through.

I used the sketch over at the CAS(E) blog. This card was made for my nephew who just graduated High School. His school colors are quite close to SU Blueberry Buckle. I found the dotted grey paper in my stash and used a retired stamp by SU called Bravo. This is one of those stamps I'm not quite ready to let go of. The graduation caps,  I  cut on my Cricut Explore Air and used SU Mini Dimensionals to give it dimension. The star was punched with a ret. SU punch and the larger of the two was cut with SU Star Framelits. I accented the tassels and the center star with SU Silver Metallic Pearls.

That's about for this afternoon. The day is sunny but a "balmy" 94 degrees! Ninety-four in Scottsdale is one thing with low humidity, here in NC the humidity is, well, uncomfortable.

Well, that's enough of my ramblings for today. I hope you have a good weekend and stay safe.

Blessings,
Bernie B

It's Your Birthday

Back this afternoon to post a card that I will be adding to Seize the Birthday and Freshly Made Sketches.

I had fun making this. I love red, white, and blue combinations. This is going to go into my Masculine Card section, but of course, it is appropriate for the 4th.of July Birthdays.

The papers used on this card: SU Real Red, Night of Navy, Playing with Patterns, and Playful Pets and Neenah Solar White110# for the base. Extra supplies used: MFT Basic Edge Dies, SU Stitched Framelits Dies, SU Star Die. The sentiment is from MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes which was stamped in Night of Navy. I used another sentiment from that MFT set on the inside, "Lets Get The Party Started" to finish it off and ready to mail.

I guess that's about it on card making today. Boy, how I wish someone would clean up my mess and put my supplies away! Have a great 4th. of July weekend. Stay Safe and Well.

Blessings,
Bernie B

Hello Friend

Good afternoon! Just popping in on my blog today to post a card I made for the CAS Color and Sketched Challenge.

I was looking through some of my older papers and came across a retired SU paper. I love gingham checks this was chosen immediately and it matched the blue of the solid piece that I used the

I love the colors and simplicity of this sketch. It will be one I'll be using again. The papers are SU except for the base which is Neenah Solar White110#. Stitched Basic Edge Dies, Stitched Rectangle Die-namics, and Stitched Flowers all by MFT.  The sentiment is from an older Gina K stamp set. I'll be sending this along to a dear friend in Tennessee tomorrow.

That's about it. I will be creating a Birthday card and Graduation card later today, but off of here to have some lunch.
Blessings,
Bernie B
