Celebrate every moment

Happy Sunday everyone! I'm here today with a card that I will post on Freshly Made Sketches and Seize the Birthday.

I just received my new papers from SU. I buy 6x6 sheets of each suite which helps me not to have an over abundance of paper left over. I used the Forever Greenery DSP and paired it with Just Jade, Pear Pizzazz, and Shaded Spruce. I must say this is my favorite DSP.  The colors and the designs are beautiful. My only regret with this card is that the leaf panel is too wide. I either should have cut the width down or used a larger stitched circle. Oh well, tomorrow is another day and I continue to learn through my mistakes.

That's it for this evening. I have quite a mess to clean up and need to eat super. I hope you have a wonderful coming week and STAY SAFE!

Blessings,
Bernie B

New Home Congratulations

I'm posting today a card I made my GD and her family on their New Home. This will be posted over on the MFT Sketch Challenge, and believe me, it's being posted just barely under the challenge time!

The MFT products I used on this card:
Stitched Rectangle Die-namics, Fishtail Trio Die-namics, Essential Sentiments for the congratulations, The Bird House and Bird from Cute Critters, the tree from Bear Hug Bunch, Grassy edges.

I colored the images with various inks using my Aqua Painter. I'm not completely happy with the results and feel I should have used my Prismacolor Pencils instead. The background paper is SU Bermuda Bay and SoSaffron for the inside Oval. I haven't decided on an inside sentiment, but need to finish this today so I can mail it out.

Have a great Tuesday. Stay safe and well.

Blessings,
Bernie B

Thinking of You

Tonight I'm posting a card that will be sent to a friend for the month of July. I'll be able to post this on The Paper Players Challenge and a blog site that I just came across mentioned on Wanda Cullens blog, Sunday Stamps.

It is a fairly simple card with an embossed background using SU Stars EF and SU Stars Framelites Dies. I also used a SU star punch. (ret) The sentiment is from an old Papertrey Ink stamp (ret) and the small stitched rectangle from MFT Stitched Rectangle Die-namics. The cardstock is SU's, Night of Navy and Real Red, and a retired DSP.

That's about it for tonight. I need to finish up a New Home card for my GD and her family. Have a restful evening and Stay Safe and Stay Well!

Blessings,
Bernie B

Father's Day Wishes

I'm here tonight posting a Father's Day card that I just finished up for my husband. Nothing like doing something at the last minute! As I was looking through my saved Blogs to find some inspiration I came across this layout from by Julee Tilman over at Poetic Artistry

I saw that Julee's card was Nautical themed and immediately knew what stamp set I was going to use. Julee sold stamps under the name Verve and I had bought several from her collection. The stamps and dies I used on this card are from, Strong Anchor. I have used this several times over the years and it is one stamp set I will not retire from my stamp collection.

The background is from a SU DSP paper (ret.) and also used SU Night of Navy and Real Red with matching ink. The base is Neenah Solar White #110 lb. I actually had all the paper and colored cardstock still on my work desk from a card that I had made earlier, so it came together fairly quickly and that was a plus for me.

That's about it. It's getting late and I want to stamp and cut some card pieces for a card I'm making tomorrow. Have a good evening and enjoy your Sunday.

Blessings,
Bernie B

Birthday Blessings

Just posting tonight a card I worked on yesterday using The Flower Challenge #45 with the theme of the color Navy plus one. My final decision on the second color was to use Altenews, Wisteria, and Hydrangea on the layered flower and leaves from Altenews Garden Treasure stamp with matching dies. I'll be posting this over at The Flower Challenge.

My sentiment was from the Bitty Birthday Wishes by MFT, SU Night of Navy, Neenah Solar White 100#, MFT Stitched Sentiment Strips, SU Subtle Textured 3D EF.

Have a restful evening and a great Thursday tomorrow. Stay Weel and Safe!

Blessings,
Bernie B

I Moose You a Lot

I just finished up two identical cards this afternoon for my sweet GC who live in Maine. I haven't seen them in almost a year, but prayerfully will in a few months. I try to send them cards every couple of months. Although we video chat they love getting Happy Mail.

I'll be posting this card over at "Just Us Girls" for their recent challenge, Frames.

I have used this stamp set recently, but not the Moose image in MFT Bear Hug Bunch. Maine has a big population of Moose, so this was perfect for the kids. The hearts and sentiment were also from this set. The papers are from SU, and so is the Woodland EF. I used for the Frame trend, MFT's Rectangle Peek A Boo Window Die-namic.

That's it for now. Tomorrow I'll be working on creating a house warming card and a Father's Day card for my hubby, but I will be doing some cleaning before then Have a great week and Stay Safe and Well.
Blessings,
Bernie B

Congratulations Graduation Card

I'm back this afternoon posting a card I made for my grandson's recent graduation that I hadn't made as of yet until today! I was pretty much at a standstill with no idea what design and I don't own any graduation stamps, but I do own a Cricut Explore Air. I searched the images for a Graduation Cap and this is the one I choose. I fiddled with the size a couple of times, but I decided on a 2" wide image.

I followed the sketch on Freshly Made Sketches blogspot for this card. When I first saw it I knew it would work perfectly. The colors are his school colors, Red, White, and Black. I used Neenah Solar White 110# for the base and Neenah White 80#, SU Real Red for the inner panel, and Cap. The top layer of the card I embossed with a retired SU EF to add some interest and I felt it looked masculine. The square was cut with the square from SU Stitched Shapes Framelits. I embossed the white stitched square with SU's Dynamic EF. The sentiment is from MFT's Essential Sentiments. I love this set and use it often.

That's it for now. I need to make a New Home card for my GD and her hubby. They will be moving into their new home next week. Sometimes I just can't seem to get ahead of my card making. Do you have those situations?

Have a blessed weekend. Stay Well and Stay Safe...

Blessings,
Bernie B

That's it for this afternoon. I plan on sitting on my screened porch and catching up on some emails. Have a wonderful evening and a Safe and Well upcoming week.

Hooray It's Your Day!

I'm back this morning posting a card that I will be linking to Seize the Birthday and the MFT Color Challenge.

I failed to mention that this card was for my GD who is turning 5 in a few days.
She lives in Maine and loves the woods, cabins, fishing, and Squirrel hunting.

She's becoming a real outdoors "woman". The animals on this card were perfect!

I used the MFT stamp set  "Bear Hug Bunch", MFT "Stitched Collage Frame" which I recently bought, but is my first time crafting with it and for the front sentiment, MFT LDJ Birthday Greetings. The #5 was cut on my Cricut Explore Air. All the coloring was done with Prismacolor Pencils. The background was blended with SU Pool Party ink on white cardstock to match one of the colors listed in the challenge.

I hope you have a wonderful day. Our Summer heat here in NC moves in today. I've been looking forward to it, but I know the humidity will not be welcomed along with it. Stay Well and Stay Safe.

Blessings,
Bernie B
