The Lord Your God

The card I'm posting this weekend is going to be linked to the Viva La Verve Sketch challenge for January. This is the first time I have inked up this particular image from the Scripture Medley 3. There are a total of 9 scripture verses, 2 beautiful crosses and 2 doves. Such a pretty, pretty set.

I used a retired SU paper, Secret Garden stamp with matching framelits for the flowers and leaves (ret.) and Bring on the Cake sentiments (ret.) for the inside. Mint Macoron and Primrose Petal inks also by SU, were used. The flowers and leaf stem was stamped off or used full strength to obtain the color differences.

That's about it for this beautiful Saturday. Our weather today is very Springlike and I'm appreciating that the bitter cold might be gone for awhile. Enjoy your weekend and go do something you love!

I'm Praying for you

I created this card over the weekend using the free stamp set, Lots of Lavender, received with my recent order during Sale-a-Bration.  I'm so happy I chose this set. The bouquet of lavender is so pretty and see me using it through the nexte several months.

I attempted several times to do the 2 step stamping, but I just don't have the technique down. I went ahead and stamped the image and sentiment with Rich Razzleberry ink. Unfortunatly, I did not have a Wink of Stella brush. I would have used that to highlight the blossoms to give them some shimmer.

I incorporated 3 of the colors into the card using, Smokey Slate for the card base, Blushing Bride (?) , and Rich Razzelberry.  I embossed the Rich Razzleberry layer with a retired embossing folder and added some Pearl Perfect Jewels to the Whisper White layer. The sentiment is from the retired stamp set, Blessings from Heaven. I will be linking this card over to Paper Craft Crew color challenge #276.

I must say, the colors choices were a little difficut for me, but I feel I was able to tie the them together. I hope I will be able to create more cards with this lovely set sometime this week working at my layering.

Have a wonderful evening and a crafty week!

Boys ATV Happy Birthday

Today I finished up a special card for a special little grandson of mine. Although I already had one made, I wanted to give one that incorporated an ATV. We go to Bass Pro Shop every few weeks and he loves to hop on the display ATVs and plays pretend. I probably could have made him one with fishing gear also. He loves looking at the rods, reels and fishing lures.

I quickly found an image on my Cricut Design Space and went right to work cutting it out on my Cricut Explore Air. I so much appreciate that machine and all that I can do with it. Although, I have only touched the surface of the crafts that can be done. The card itself was easy to put together. I did cut out the 5 since it is his 5th. birthday. The hardest part was picking an appropriate background paper and choosing coordinating solid card stock.

The papers were in my stash and I  believe it is all retired, but not all SU. I did use the new SU Punch, Tailored Tag Punch, which I love. I did buy the suite, but forgot to add the DSP to the order! That will be coming in shortly so I can get started making some cards for the gentlemen in my family.

Most of the area is pretty much closed down. We only had about 2 inches here in Clayton. Just enough to make the roads ugly, though. I will play for awhile with paper, stamps, and ink and see what I come up with.

Have a wonderful Friday,
Bernie B
