For The Birthday Girl

Good afternoon everyone. I just finished up a card for my GD who will be 6 tomorrow. The card was inspired by her picture that she titled, If Dinosaurs Came Back, and was entered by her Art teacher in our State Fair in NC. Each school was able to choose one student from grades Kindergarten-through 5th. Amelia's artwork was chosen from her Kindergarten class.

I used SU DSP Dinoroar and chose SU Lovely Lipstick, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, and Pool Party as the coordinating colors. Since I did not have the stamps set or matching dies for this paper, I cut the Palm Tree and Dinosaur with my Cricut.  The outside sentiment is by MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes which I stamped in Old Olive and the inside with the MFT Big Birthday Sentiments also in Old Olive cut with MFT's Stitched Sentiment Strips.

I did decide to make this a shaker card, although it was not my original plan. Although I'm not happy that the red chunky glitter stuck to the front not allowing the sequine mix to show, I'm sure my GD will not mind. The shaker was made using MFT's Rectangle Shaker Window and Frame Die-namic matching Shaker windows. Does anyone know how to prevent the static problem with glitter in a plastic shaker?

I didn't get this card finished to link to the Seize the Birthday "For the Kids" but I will enter it in the general birthday challenge.

Have a great Thursday and go do something you LOVE! I have a very messy desk to clean up, so no LOVE on this end!

Blessings,
Bernie

Happiest of Birthdays to You

Happy Wednesday morning. I just finished up this card for one of my SIL's and will link it over at CASE(E) This Sketch blog.

Inside of Card

I used the SU Sailing Home suite as I have done on several other cards that I have made recently for the men in our family. I really love all the images with matching dies. I used Neenah Solar White 110# for the base with a layer of  SU Night of Navy topped with Balmy Blue which was embossed with SU's Subtle Dynamic embossing folder and cut with one of MFT's Stitched Rectangles. The sentiment is from MFT'S Bitty Birthday Wishes and cut with MFT's Skinny Strip Die-Namics.
The inside was stamped with the sailboat from the SU set and the sentiment is from MFT's Anything-but-Basics Birthday Wishes.

Well, I'm off to work on several more cards for family members who have October birthdays. Enjoy your day and I hope you get to do something you LOVE!

Blessings,
Bernie

Nothing Goes Better With Cake Birthday

HAPPY WORLD CARD MAKING DAY!

I'm popping in today with I card I finished this afternoon to put into my masculine card folder. I recently bought this Birthday Cake die-namic from MFT and was itching to use it. This is a very simple card using only SU Crumb Cake CS accented with Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, and Bermuda Bay. I felt that the black accents using Jet Black Memento Ink on the sentiment and the companion pieces to the stacked cake gave it a crisp modern look, especially for a man card. I used the MFT' Stitched Rectangles and SU's Stitched Shapes. The sentiment is from MFT's Anything But Basic Birthday Wishes.

I'm will be linking this over to MFT's Sketch Challenge and Seize the Birthday today.

That's it for me today. I need to put together a similar card and organize some die cuts. I hope you have a blessed and happy weekend and are able to do something you LOVE!

Blessings,
Bernie

Let's Shell-ebrate Birthday Card

Hi all. I'm here with a children's birthday card that I finished up today to link over at Freshly Made Sketches #405 and Seize the Birthday which had the Toppings as a Geometric Shape. This will be added to my stash of childrens birthday cards.

The products I used were the stamp from MFT Safari Party, the sentiment is from Totally Turtle by Craftin Desert Divas and stamped with GinaK ink. I used the SU card stock, Flirty Flamingo and the patterned paper from Dinoroar. I cut the different squares with my Cricut Explore and used a sentiment strip by MFT.

I decided to double the squares to give them dimension and also added dimensional squares on the back of the turtles. The turtles were colored with my Prismacolor Pencils using two shades of green, Old Olive and Limepeel.

That's it for tonight. I'm off to finish up supper. Have a wonderful evening and I hope you get to do something you LOVE!

Blessings,
Bernie
