Birthday Greetings/ color throwdown331 & MOJO386

Today I'm linking my card to two challenges, color throwdown and Mojo386.  This is the last week of the month and the MOJO Monday sketch is always the Tall and Skinny layout. I usually have a difficult time with this size, but I think today I was able to get a decent card created using it. Aren't the colors for the color throwdown just beautiful? So bright, fresh, "Springy" and fun to work with.

I chose to use the inside sentiment on the outside of this card to utilize the full length of the Project Life Card & Label die. Both the outside sentiment and the inside Happy Birthday greeting is from the hostess set,  Bloom with Hope. I really like the graphic look of the flowers and script in this set, but I'm not sure why I haven't used it more.

It's Your Day / VLVFeb2015#3

Here is my card for VerveFeb2015#3 challenge. This is also a birthday card that is for my daughter whose birthday is this week. It was already mailed, thankfully!

I just love this birthday paper by SU, Birthday Bash SDSP. The colors just make me HAPPY! The flower, which is a new favorite of mine, is from a new set Crazy About You punched with 1 3/4"scallop punch.

I rounded the corners with the Project Life corner rounder, used the Banners framelits, an older punched piece to add to the top of the banner by Ek success, twine from the Feb.Paper Pumpkin kit, and all solid card stock by SU.

That's about it for today. I have some wash to do and rearrange some bedroom drawers. Not necessarily as much fun as spending time in my Studio, but a girl needs to do what a girl need to do. :0)

Make it a great Thursday and go do something CRAFTY my friends.

BernieBee

You're How Old/ VlVFeb2015#2

Today I'm posting sketch #2 of the VivaLa Verve challenge for the month of February. I needed a birthday card for one of my sons who was turning 40, and thought the this Just Sayin' stamp with matching framelit and sketch were perfect.

I combined papers from the recent Birthday Bash DSP and last years High Tides DSP. Since both papers included Calypso Coral, I used that color for the card base and accented it with  Night of Navy and a little Crushed Curry.

Well, I'm off to get this card in the mail so my son receives it on time! I hope you make your Wednesday great and are able to do something CRAFTY!

Make a Wish/ Viva La Verve Challenge 1

This week I will be posting cards that I will be linking to the Viva La Verve February challenges. Why not stop over and enter. They will have 4 sketches ( although #4 will be up this week) that you can link and have a chance to win a $100 gift voucher for Verve Stamps! The more sketches you enter the more chances you have on winning.  :0)

Just a note: the February Contest Deadline is  8pm Mountain, Thursday March 5.

This is sketch #1 which I used for a Birthday Card for my granddaughter. I think it might be a little hard to see, but the banner paper is Gold SP and the main paper and smaller banner are papers from Birthday Bash which have gold embossed designs. I paired it with Night of Navy paper and ink and Whisper White.

Make it a wonderful Monday and as always, do something CRAFTY my friends!

BernieBee

Ladybug Thank You's

Side view with popped up Ladybug
These are the Thank You notes I promised I would post. I've been working on these for a special young lady in my life.  I will make a total of 40. Stampin' Up! has made it so easy, a perfect note card size, made with sturdy card stock and matching envelopes. Can't ask for much more then that.

I did use my Cricut Expression to cut the flowers and the Ladybugs. That certainly made the whole process less stressful.  :} I did use SU cardstock ( Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette) and 2 stamps sets, Sassy Salutations and Papillon Potpourri to complete them. Although, I only used the antenna from the Papillon Potpourri to complete the Ladybug.

Products used

I hope to have them completed by this week and mailed off by Thursday or Friday. I hope she likes them!

Nothing else much new here, although I was able to by 3 pairs of shoes at the Factory Outlet Mall in Carlsbad. I have been looking for shoes it seems like forever.  Shoe shopping is not one of my favorite things to do, but today I hit "pay dirt". I'm doing the happy dance knowing I won't need to buy shoes for a long while.

I hope you have a wonderful and blessed weekend and try to do something fun and CRAFTY my friends!

One Birthday Card, 3 challenges

Today I am posting a Birthday card to 3 challenges. I think this might be the first time I have done this and actually fit the challenge time limits!

First the challenges:

Sentiment from SU Really Good Greetings stamp set

At first, I wasn't sure how I would incorporate the colors presented by the colourQ crew, but I found this polka dot paper in my stash, and I feel it fits. What do you think?

I did use my Expression machine and the Celebrate cartridge to cut the party hat.  I have been using the machine more lately and need a little refresher course on how to get cleaner cuts.  I do think some new mats are in order though to obtain that goal.

Have a wonderful weekend and why not stop by the challenge blogs and do something CRAFTY!

To a Great Friend/ Mojo #383

Just a quick card tonight using the MOJO383 sketch. I wasn't intending on  creating a card or posting tonight, but I was looking through some old papers I had. I came across this cute background paper. Gosh, I'm not even sure how old it is or who produced it, but I knew wanted to use it with this sketch. So off I went to my studio.( By the way, if any of you know the name of the manufacturer, please let me know.)

I did combine it with some older Bazzill papers and some SU papers and inks. (Melon Mambo/Perfect Polka Dots EF/Lucky Limeade ink/Primrose Petal ink)

I had just recently received the FREE new Sale-A-Bration stamp Simply Wonderful and love the way this worked on the card. I can see me keeping this around for a long while.

Well thats about it for tonight.
Go have yourself a CRAFTY evening!

Thinking of You/FMS 171

I'm just making this Freshly Made Sketches challenge under the wire! I did have it finished up last night, but decided to wait until this morning. Wrong decision. :0(

I needed a manly Thinking of You card and this sketch was perfect. I love the images in the set By the Tide, and decided to use it for a masculine feel. There is a card in the SU 2014-2015 catalog ( pg 130) that I CASEd my focal image from, although I did use the new stamp, Crazy about You and Gorgeous Grunge on my card.

Other stuff you might want to know:
The color combination: Marina Mist, Crushed Curry: Ink and Paper,Pear Pizzazz: Ink and Paper.I also used one of my favorite SU papers for a more rustic look, Naturals White. The banners were embossed with the SU Decorative Dots EF.

I hope you have and wonderful and CRAFTY day!

Hugs,
BernieBee
