Thank You So Much/MOJO 382

I'm just trying to stay ahead for my need of thank you cards and  decided to utilize the SU Lots of Thanks stamp set. I will be putting up 3 or 4 more cards using this set in the  next several days. So stay tuned!

This card is being linked to the MOJO Monday challenge, but I decided against the tall and skinny orientation.  I'm just not a big fan of that size card.

All the products used on this card are Stampin' Up! except the buttons and the dotted folder.

Maybe I'll start my weekend today!

When I posted on my blog yesterday, I mentioned that I would post the card I had made. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

I didn't have the photo uploaded, nor the blog description written . The biggest problem was that I was admitted to the emergency room and was there from 9:30am to 5:45pm yesterday! Yes, I know, I was there on January 2nd. also. This time for a different incident. I'm thankful it was not a heart problem, but there is still no diagnosis. I'll be going to my primary care doctor on Tuesday and hope to see what needs to be done.

So without further ado, here is my card. It's pretty simple and I used both SU products and my Cricut  to complete it.

MOJO Monday 381 Sketch

The Sun was cut using my Expression amchine and the Doodlecharms Cartridge cut 3x's at 3". I layered and glued them together with Tombow Mono glue and popped them up with SU Stampin Dimensionals.

Paper: So Saffron, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Birthday Bash DSP

The Joy of a Bread machine

My new Bread Machine
My first loaf. It could look a little better, though
the inside was moist and delicious.

I played with my new bread machine on Wednesday afternoon. I haven't  had one in 6 years and really missed having one. I had given mine to my daughter before we left for Arizona 6 years ago. I had always made my dinner rolls and breads in my Oster for the 20 years I had owned one.

I looked at many models and read many reviews, and finally decided on the Cuisinart CKB-100. It was under $100 from Amazon Prime. Plus:
  • Bakes 1, 1 1/2, and 2-pound loaves
  • has 12 pre-programmed menu options
  • 3 crust settings and a 13-hour delay-start timer
More options then this girl might need, but nice to have. I will post a review after I use it for a month or two. Hopefully, I will be happy with my purchase.

I do plan on baking in the machine, but also plan on using it on the dough setting, shaping it by hand and baking it in my oven. I was encouraged to use the machine this way by Paula Rhodes who has a blog,  www.salad-in-a-jar.com. which has so much wonderful information, not only on bread, but recipes, reviews, and kitchen tips.

I will have a card that I will post on the blog later today. I'm still don't have much "mojo", but it's getting there.

Have a great Saturday and o something CRAFTY today!

Hugs,
Bernadette

Little Guys Cricut/SU Birthday Card

Unfortunately, my life last week and even yesterday has been a little different, to put it mildly.  I won't go into a lot of details, but it was crazy. I actually was ready to sell off all my crafting supplies! Yes, it was that bad.

I would walk into my studio, look at all the "stuff" laying on my work surfaces, and just walk out. I just couldn't get myself to do anything creative. I had a love/hate relationship with every stamp, piece of paper, ink pad, etc. YUK!

Then tonight, to add insult to injury, I couldn't get my phone pictures to upload into my Dropbox account. I finally did a work around and managed to post them.

I'm going to brief with my description and supplies that I used on this card.  It took me days to put together and I'm still not happy with it, but I need to get it out in the mail today.

Plane pieces/ clouds - Cricut New Arrivals cartridge
Planes main body-  Bazzil
Stampin' Up! - Stripped Paper, Ink, inside sentiment, embossing folder, star punch, candy dots, dimensionals

If you would like any info on the products I used on this card, just drop me an email at: bernadettebliss@gmail.com, and I will be glad to pass it along.

Make it a great and CRAFTY day, I'm sure going to try to!

Blessings,
Bernadette

Finally home!

I'm doing the happy dance today.  My hubby is finally home from the hospital. It's been 6 long, scary daysEven our dog, Chloe, was happy to have her master home.

Steve will have to have daily blood draws and give himself injections. No, I can't even think about doing it.  Needles freak me out. Always have. If he really needed me to do it, I would, but he is fine doing it himself Thank the Lord!

He will head back to work on Monday and prayerfully, be on the road to complete healing and health. I'm so blessed by God's faithfulness. He is a GOOD God, all the time.

Hopefully, I will be able to make some projects this weekend and be back to my normal posting schedule. I'm really anxious to create with the new products I received last week. They have been calling my name for quite few days!

Make it a wonderful Friday tomorrow and a blessed weekend and as always, stay CRAFTY my friends!

Hugs,
Bernadette

Just an Update

First, a Very Happy and Blessed New Year!

I was hoping to get up and running since I came back on December 29th. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

On Friday, January 2, my husband passed out at home and had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance.  He has not been feeling well since the second week in December,  cough, low grade fever, no appetite, and shortness of breathe.

He was brought to the emergency room and after several tests and questions, he was diagnosed with a Pulmonary Embolism. They found 4 or 5 blood clots in his lungs and 2 in his right leg. He was put on a Heparin (thought is was Warfrin)drip and had a mesh "basket" put into his Vena Cava to collect the clots as they broke up. His prognosis is good, but he is not too happy about the Heart Healthy diet instructions! He had been in ICU until last night and now is on the mend. Praise the Lord.

They feel this condition was probably caused by all the travel he had done between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  We had traveled to Scottsdale, AZ (11 hours round trip by car) and North Carolina (approx. 12 hours round trip by plane).

We are rejoicing in the faithfulness of the Lord for His hand on him. The outcome could have been very different. We had a mighty group of prayer warriors who prayed and have stood by us, both here in California and North Carolina.

This is the beautiful new hospital he is here in Escondido, CA Palomar Medical Center completed in 2012. It just "wowed" me. He is getting excellent care by both the attending doctors and nurses. The food is decent and the rooms are beautiful.

I did receive my SU order on Friday afternoon, opened it , but have not had a chance to "play". It looks like that might not happen until after he comes home from the hospital, perhaps by Wednesday or Thursday.

Thanks for hanging in there for me and stay CRAFTY, my friends!

Blessings,
Bernadette
