The Thanksgiving Table

Today's project and card is something I thought would be a special little something on a Thanksgiving Holiday table.

The treat holder, minus the treat (I'm on WW and treats are not allowed in the house-smile) and a little 3x3 card. The sentiment is minus one word,"you". That was intentional. As you can see by the photo below, the space on the inside is for someone to record what they are grateful for. They are intended to be put into an album and each year a newly designed "Grateful For" card will be made and added to the others.

The little treat holder was designed design  by Dawn Griffith. Thanks, Dawn!

Here are some measurements and pictures of the project:

Base4 1/4 x 2 3/4"

Top/candy holder piece: 2 1/4" x 5 3/4" - Using your SU Score  Board, Score this piece @ 1 3/4" and 2" horizontally.
*The corners are to be rounded after you score*

The DSP for the holder:

1 5/8" x 2 1/8"(bottom) -  2 1/4" x 3 3/4" (inside)

It is best to put the dimensionals down the center, not only to allow the treat to have room, but room for the ribbonto be threaded through. You could put the ribbon on before you attach the holder, but I found it was easier for me to do it this way.

This is the side view of what the holder should look like when complete.

I hope you have a chance to try  this project sometime soon. You'll find that it goes together very quickly. If you have any questions about this project, you can contact me at: bpb4553@gmail.com.

Make it a great weekend and go do something CRAFTY my friends!

Masculine Birthday Card and 2 challenges

I don't usually post on Thursdays, but I decided to enter two challenges and I already had something prepared for Friday. This was entered in the Mojo #362 and Color Throwdown #369.

As I  have said before, I usually am in need of birthday cards for the men in my life. Most of my stash birthday cards tend to be too "girly". (smile)

When I saw this Mojo sketch and the colors over on color throwdown, I knew it would make a perfect masculine card.

I did rotate the sketch so I could fit the large poly stamp from Age Awareness that I had decided on using. I love the way it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a wonderful Thursday. GO do something CRAFTY my friends.

Bernadette

Christmas Sparkle

Today's card is just one of the Christmas/Holiday cards I will be posting over the next several months. Not that each post will be Holiday themed, but hopefully a nice sampling showcasing  several of the new Holiday SU stamps that I have.

I found this design idea over on Pinterest, but unfortunately, I don't remember the gal that posted it.  With this  CAS card, this was my interpretation of the original.

I just have to say, I love, Festival of  Trees, and having the matching punch even makes it sweeter. The  Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper is just so beautiful and cuts beautifully with dies and the Big Shot. I'll have restrain myself for using it on to many cards.

I used Lost Lagoon and Pool Party CS, but was originally going to use Soft Sky. I had stamped the baubles prior to checking then realized I did not have ONE piece in my stash! Ok, it was onto plan B. I'm still happy with the end results and perhaps know one will notice. (smile)
