June Paper Pumpkin

Some of the kits contents
Another quick post today. I had a chance to play a little this weekend with the June Paper Pumpkin kit that arrived last week. I decided to do my "own thing" with the pinwheels as you can see by the photo below. I have several more projects using the contents of the kit which will be up tomorrow.

I used an antique Ball canning jar and put a piece of floral foam on the bottom so I could insert the straws. I did cut the straws to different lengths to get the different heights needed. The red paper is red sparkled Christmas tissue paper that I cut into strips and put it into the jar after I had finished cutting  the pinwheels and placing them into the foam.
That's it, Quick and Simple!

If you would like to see the kit in action, here is a link to the June video that Stampin'Up! posted

Make it a great Monday and I hope you do something CRAFTY, my friends!

Weekly Update

Life sure has a way of getting in the way!  I was hoping to pick up the pace this past week with at least 2 or 3 cards, but that did not take place.

My healing is going nicely, but I still have been trying to work out my medications and dealing with fatigue. I think the fatigue is the one area that bothers me the most.

I'm normally a fairly energetic person being to accomplish quite a few things in a day. Since last August, when I collapsed my partial knee implant until now, I have been on slow speed physically and mentally. I start out energetic, but loose it fairly quickly. It amazes me how dealing with pain and healing after surgery effects so many aspects of your daily life.  My heart goes out to the people who deal with chronic pain for years or recovering from numerous surgeries.

I do pray this week proves a little more productive. I have several card ideas posted on my idea board. I generally like to do a series of cards using one stamp set and perhaps one DSP, but I seem to be scattered in my approach right now. Perhaps I should stick to things that work, for me, at least! I did receive my adorable June Paper Pumpkin kit and hope to put that together and put up some photos.

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. It's another beautiful day here in San Marcos, 75, sunny and low humidity. We went to our 8 AM service at Coastline Community Church in Carlsbad and had the blessing of hearing Pastor Colin Urquhart. from England. His message really stirred my heart and I realize that I need to allow the Holy Spirit to make some changes in my heart.

Enjoy your day today and do something CRAFTY my friends!

Happy Fathers Day

I was hoping I would be able to get this card up yesterday after I had finished it, but we have had company since Thursday and didn't have a chance to write up the post.

I decided to use the MOJO349 sketch for this Fathers Day card. I don't have many appropriate images for the men in my life, but I thought the classic SU stamp, Lovely as a Tree, would work.

Actually, this is the first card I have posted in a week.  I had a slight set back with my recovery and I didn't have much mojo.  I've been better the past 3 or 4 days and I hope I can back to posting more regularly.

I hope your weekend is wonderful celebrating with the Father's in your family. (Dad's, FIL's or the father of your children ;} )

Masculine Get Well

Today I completed the get well card I needed for a male friend who had Hip Replacement surgery. I so enjoyed using the Wetlands stamp, I just don't know why I don't use it more often.

I really love how this card came together, especially the color combination of Mossy Meadow card stock and ribbon, Lost Lagoon as a layer embossed with the Woodgrain EF, and incorporating the use of one of the Project Life Cards and Life die cuts to frame out the sentiment. The main image and the sentiment was stamped on the Naturals White CS and backed with Baked Brown Sugar CS. I know I will be using this combination again.

All the products used on this card can be bought through me at my online store. I would love to be your demonstrator of choice and creative coach.

Just a quick post today. I don't normally post on a Saturday, but I wanted to enter the Freshly Made Sketches challenge, and I needed to do that before Monday noon.

I needed another Graduation card, and I felt this sketch fit perfectly in what I had in mind. I did flip it, so I would have a top fold card, which I prefer.

Graduation Card

Today I was able to create one of the two graduation cards I needed. I had already chosen the papers and the BRAVO stamp set, but needed some inspiration. As I was looking over my emails this morning, I opened deconstructingjen no.154, and I knew it would be perfect for my intended use.

There always seems like so many possibilities with Jen's sketches.  This certainly can be "gussied up" to make a very feminine card. I do have a card rolling around in my head with feminine in mind, but I really need to get another graduation card made, so it's on the back shelf for today, at least.

The Products Used

The solid card stock color are, Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey and Basic Gray which coordinate beautifully with the Moonlight paper stack paper. So, Stampin' Up!

Moonlight Paper Stack

SWEET!

Here is the card I promised I would post today.  Can you believe it, 3 days, 3 cards! Happy, Happy, Happy!

Gosh, I'm loving this Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey combo.  I wasn't sure I would, but I do.

This Bravo Stamp set is one of the new Photopolymer additions to the SU stamp collection. The stamps are large, but wonderful to use. I have a little testimonial about the stamp I used on this card.  I had the center piece all done including the bird, leaves and ribbon.  I know, NOT something you should do first.  :{

I inked up the stamp and laid it down on the paper. Unfortunately, it didn't stamp all the way! OM goodness, did I have to start all over again? The answer was NO.  I re-inked the stamp, and since it's clear, I was able to re-aline it! Let me tell you I was one happy stamper.

The Products used on this Card

BRAVO - NEW

Polka-Dot Pieces
Blackberry Bliss Ribbon - NEW

Moonlight  Paper Stack - New

Blackberry Bliss CS

Bird Builder Punch
Large Scallop Die

I hope you get a chance to look over all the new products and do something CRAFTY.  Have a wonderful and blessed day.
