Some Craft /Office Musings

Today I will not be posting a card, but sharing some wish list ideas for my craft room. We have been living in our Motor Home since being here in California the past 3 months. Needless to say, even a 40 foot Motor Home is not ample room to house a husband, wife and
a small dog, let alone craft supplies.

Soon that will be remedied. We will be moving into a 3 bedroom/ 2 bath manufactured home in a 55+ community in San Marcos, CA by the end of May. I am so excited about having a designated area to create. It will not be a large area, but so much more then I have now.

Here is some inspirational ideas I have been gathering on Pinterest the past several weeks.

ikea desk in craft room!

Craft Room
The picture above is an Ikea piece that will fit perfectly on one end of the room. I already have a great Ikea desk chair that I will be bringing back with me from my Scottsdale home.

I would love to have this shelving unit, but I don't believe I have sufficient room on the opposite wall. The room is only 11'x 9 1/2" and the remaining two walls having a window on one and a closet and entrance door on the other.

I would also like to incorporate into the design a counter height work space like the one pictured above. I occasionally like to stand when I am putting together a card or project. Don't you just love those ladder style shelves in the background? I do, but I really don't think they would fit in anywhere.

I thought this corner desk could also work.

Craft Room Desk Design
nice!

The room above, I would have to say, would be my "Dream Room", but I am blessed to have a designated space again. I know I will need to be organized and be able to creatively use every available inch of space.

I will take pictures on the progress I am making once I get into the house and get started on the room.

If any of you have some ideas you would like to share with me on how you have decorated your craft space, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and have a blessed and CRAFTY day!

Bernadette,

I just recently got the Ikea desk (in your first picture) attached to a 5 by 5 cubby shelving. It is working well for me. I got the DVD/CD shelves alongside that fit the SU cases too. Nice thing about the IKEA shelving is you can add baskets etc. if you like it clean. Since mine is upstairs away from anyone's view, I just have mine open for easy access. Every day, I rearrange things. We winter in FLA and I am in PA now but hubby had to bring a stamp pad from there for my class tomorrow. He went up and said...cool place- you are making the most of this shelving I put together for you! And....he knows Rich Razzleberry is in the Brights family now!!

I love all of the ideas you've collected! To gain more space in my craft room/office, I removed the closet doors and installed cabinets, countertop and shelves in the closet area. Maybe some version of this would work for you too! Good luck with your move - so glad you'll have a creative space again:-) Love your blog!

I love the ideas that you've collected! And I love the cards you make! I recently found you on Stampin' Connection. I created more space in my craft room/office by removing the closet doors and installing floor cabinets, counter top and wall shelves. It has worked out really well for me and maybe it will for you too. Good luck with your move - so glad that you'll have a bigger creative space again.
